I want a visa debit!

I'm going to ring them up and ask for one in a couple of weeks.

a few places don't take maestro anymore.

Ring on Monday onwards, as it starts on that day. No need to ask in a 'couple' of weeks.

Just say you 'lost' it, so it could become a priority when the card is sent out.

Well i'm going to report my card damaged next week. Had two card readers moan about not being able to read the chip on my new card.
Good timing really :-P

Yeah chip struggled in tesco before so I must need a new one. Worked after a wipe but you never know

This is the 2nd time i've had a new card with a very poor chip. I suppose they try to make them as cheap as possible.
I too used the wipe method.
