all solo cards within natwest will become visa debit cards not electron... im not sure of many places now issuing visa electrons. The visa switchover is happening as of the 14th september if i remember rightly.
Hope this helpsCurrently working for NatWest Retail. All posts however are my views and opinions and are not expressing the views of NatWest or the RBS Group, my posts are there to help!0 -
Hi
Thanks for the info, do you have to wait for your solo card to expire or will it be replaced instantly ?DMP mutual support thread member:3270 -

If it is due to expire before 12/10 then it will be replaced with visa debit when it expires, if it is due to expire after this date, it will be replaced automatically in 12/10. If you lose the card or it is stolen after 14/09/09 it will be replaced with a visa debit.0 -
All RBS Group companies are switching cards to Visa starting very soon (I work for said company!). I forget the finer details (ie whether Solo cards are being replaced by Electron or normal Visa Debit, as its a few weeks since the announcement).
Check with your branch though, they'll soon tell you (or find out) the details!
RBS have already begun switching people have recieved their new cards already. As of last month.0 -
The only reason why I want to move over is because mainly all the items I buy are from the states, and Its a bit of a pain having to use your mates card!
A&L are real crap!
I love Natwest now though, my cheques are now clearing within 2 days! (Not even working days!). Telephone banking seems real good, Just needed to open my eyes a bit.
The Visa debit will be the icing on the cake though
The new Natwest/RBS card charges £1.25 per transaction you do thats not in sterling, Including buying things online from the US etc.0 -

I don't know if that must be a visa thing, as I noticed since opening a Lloyds account & having a visa debit with them, a few transactions made from the UK, but processed outside EU have been hit with a £1 'overseas transaction fee'?
Don't know whether to close my Lloyds account down now, only went for the visa, they did give me a full account, (got a step with Natwest) but don't see any benefits especially now Natwests charges are also dropping. (Not that I plan on incurring any:rolleyes:)0 -

will gold servicecard 250 customers receive the same coloured card above or a different one?0

I think it is the same card, but not 100% sure.
I am still waiting to see what the Ulsterbank one is like, I'm sure it will be Blue with the rbs logo in the middle and white writing on the top right.0 -
