My journey towards Debt Freedom!!

Hi Yukkibear, thanks, I've just literally squeezed it in just now before my energy levels reached rock bottom!
I have had a relatively productive day tho, so my energy hasn't been totally wasted!! In between working from home and entertaining my DD I have managed to:
* Take car back to get tyre fixed :j woo hoo - hope it stays up this time!
* Stripped our bed, plus spare bed, hoovered under and around each, plus the landing
* Cleaned big bathroom (small one can wait till tomorrow!)
* Done some revision, relatively happy with this subject so its not too boring
* Managed to tidy my desk, so I can now actually see it!!
* Got some ebay items ready to post
So I'm just updating my diary while I wait for my bath to run. Need to do food shopping tomorrow, and I just know OH is waiting for me to do the menu and the list, while he sits and watches TV :mad: but I am knackered tonight and he can do it!!
Anyways, going to switch off my PC now as its been on all day (not very MSE I know!) so night night y'all - see ya tomorrow! x0 -
Well I would be happy with that progress cwc. I've been moving money around today as I want to make sure I can get dd's room done this month or early next month as the more I look at the bed the more I want her room done lol.
I have a quiet dd on my hands today. OH is at work and she keeps going from quiet to active bless her. Something's not right but haven;t worked it out yet. I think it could be her teeth as all I could get her to eat for lunch was a sausage and some cheese with two yoghurts.0 -
Well today hasn't been that productive unfortunately!... DD has followed me around all day as I've tried to tidy up and pulled things out in practically every room!! Never mind, she seemed to have fun so I guess its ok, the mess will still be here to tidy up tomorrow. :rolleyes:
Need to go and crack on with some studying tonight so I'm logging off after I've updated my diary because I know if my PC is on I'll sneak back on here or ebay!! Haven't listed anything else today, but did take photos of some stuff to put on in the next few days. Checked my paypal today and I'm up to £52-ish so thats a boost from my first batch of goodies I listed. Some are paying via cheque so when they come through they'll just be transfered straight into my savings.
Sorry to hear your DD is not herself Yukkibear... my DD cut 2 more back teeth just a few weeks back so maybe its her teeth? My DD was funny for a few days, and had really, em 'bad' nappies, was such a shame!!
Anyway, off to get back into the revision. May not be on tomorrow as I'm horseriding in the afternoon and it takes an age to get there and back so will take the most of the day, but it was discounted through our work S&S club so its a little treat!
Enjoy the rest of your weekends whatever you get up to xxx0 -
Hope you enjoyed the horse riding. We've had lovely weather here today, so have been out in the garden for a lot today which was nice.
DD1 has had a clearout in her room and there is a box of stuff for me to go through and chuck/ebay/charity shop now lol.
Off to try and do some mammoth listing tonight on ebay.0 -
Evening All!
Thanks Yukkibear, I did enjoy the horseriding, it was nice and peaceful - a little cold when out of the sun, but it was great. Glad to hear your DD1 is following in her mummys footstepsand clearing out! Good luck with the ebay listing, fingers crossed for some good sales!
Tonight I've done a bit more revision for my exams this week. Glad they will be all over this week and I can spend a bit of time being more MSE and money making!! The next two exams I'm not as stressed about, whether thats a good sign or not I don't know! :eek: I would say 2/3's of it I'm comfortable with so I'll just have to give my brain a little rest and see if it will absorb the rest tomorrow night.
Its difficult to study with my DD around, she is so good and no bother at all but I feel bad that I'm not sitting spending my day playing with her while I'm on holiday. I know you can't spend every waking minute of every day with them but I can't help it! Tonight is night 3 without her soother, well day three really as we've thrown them out so there is no temptation to give it to her (although I caught my OH attempting to take it out the bin last night!! I took it straight off him and put it back in the bin, then promptly emptied the bin into the wheelie bin!!:rotfl:) She is doing well without it tho, bless her!! :A
On my MSE front, I've not done too much - just checked my ebay and I don't have any watchers at the moment, I have 15 listings and a tonne more to put on. Think I'll put them on Thursday night after my exam, will have a burst of energy in celebration of the end of this semesters exams and put it to good use! I've also updated my spreadsheet of spending and it now matches exactly with my bank account!! It was 47p out and it was bugging me but I had made a typing mistake which I realised when I checked over my receipts. :rolleyes:
Anyway, I've ranted enough on my diary for tonight so I'm off to post on some others I'm watching with interest! Feel free to pop in and say hi.... :hello:the kettle is always on!!0 -
Thanks for stopping by on my diary
The small daily payments really makes a difference. In no time at all I have halved one of my debts. The plan for me is to get the number of creditors to a small enough number (currently 15 would be pleased with 8) and then start paying them all off with what i can afford on a monthly basis.
I am lucky on the MiL situationI don't have one, I split with my kids mum 3 years ago and have custody. Unfortunately she is a pain but only 13 years left until she is out of my life completely
TOTAL AT START £13606.90 27/03/2018
TOTAL CURRENT £13445.90 29/03/20180 -
Hi cwc, glad the no dummy is going well. Thankfully dd hasn't got one, but she does suck her thumb so not ure if that's better or not as I can't "lose" a thumb can I lol.
I remember with dd1 I also "lost" the dummy around this age and it only took a few days, but well done for being strong with your OH. All your good work woul be undone with just one night giving her another dummy.
We are breaking a habit with dd2 at the mo of eating in front of the tv. It's our fault but I have realised just how much she does eat in front of the tv especially when I'm busy, so for a bout a week now I have made her eat in the dining room or outside weather permitting or by turning the tv off. OH said to me yesterday she wasn't eating well on sat so sunday morning he let her eat in front of the tv to see if she would eat again. I went mad and told him it's not the tv that makes her eat, she'll eat if she's hungry.
Thankfully it didn;t set her back. We've just had lunch outside which was nice.
Good luck with the exams this week.0 -
Didn't get the chance to come on yesterday, so I was bad and didn't update my diary!! I did however make some progress with the housework and odd jobs I have to do. I made a list so that I knew what I had actually acheived, so yesterdays "done" list was as follows:
* Load of washing, which I hung out to dry as it was beautiful weather!
* Hoovered Stairs and Landing
* Swept Kitchen floor
* Washed DD's new bedding for the arrival of the "big girl" bed on Thursday!!
* Emptied kitchen bin and cleaned out with disinfectant
* Paid in a ebay cheque plus a "cash in my phone" cheque to the bank
* Dusted our bedroom
* Posted 9 ebay parcels
Unfortunately todays progress hasn't come close to that, but never mind!! I'm stressing out about tonights exam, so I'm letting myself off. I did find some bach rescue remedy spray in my bedside drawer so thanks to Urg123 for the reminder about that - its great stuff!
The no dummy is going well with my DD - this is day 5 so we're doing ok I think!! Couldn't believe my OH was actually going to give her the dummy after I'd put it in the bin.... what a bloke-ish thing to do!! He says he can't stand hearing her cry, but I can tell the difference between her "I'm not getting my own way" cry and the "theres actually something wrong with me" cry!!
Glad your OHs slip up with your DD eating at the TV hasn't hindered you too much Yukkibear! It doesn't take much to slip back into old habbits, but at least you are still on track with her!
Thanks for dropping by downnotout - you are defo lucky on the MIL front!! :rotfl:I'll have to get really stuck into my banking etc once my exams are over and see if I can do the payment a day. The only thing is, I am paying money into a savings account to use for making final payments on my debt and the actual transfer seems to take about 5 days - I can see me getting in a pickle when my "Available Balance" and "Balance" aren't the same on my internet banking - I'm easily confused!!
I'm not sure if I'll be back on later tonight or not, will see how I get on with my chores for today and my last minute revision. I have another exam on Thursday so should really come home from this one and get my head in the books for the next one!!
Happy Days - talk to you all soon! :hello:0 -
Good luck with your exam today CWC!0

Good luck with the exam if you haven;t already done it. You'll be fine.
I think when you have a week off you come out of automatic mode which makes you get stuff done normally. I always find when I have time off all my good intentions go to pot as I seem to relax and do nothing I wanted to.
Enjoy the time with your dd.0
