I'm writing to my fee-paying debt management company to say that I no longer want them to deal with my creditors. I also need to write to my creditors to inform them that I will be paying them directly now and not through this company I've been using. I've stuck a thread on the DFW page to see if anyone can help there too!0 -

Hello again my friend! I got your link, thanks! There may be parts of some letters that I can use to make my letter, I think maybe my situation is a bit different to use any of the exact templates. Thanks for the super fast reply tho! :T
I meant to ask you, you mentioned that your area was reclaiming, is this reclaiming back bank charges?0 -
So I now have my 2 letters ready to print and send (once I get the company details in the ones to my creditors that is!!)
The letter I am sending to the Debt Management Company is as follows:
Dear Sir / Madam
Customer Reference:
As per the cancellation terms under my current agreement with you, I give you notice this agreement will be terminated on 1st June 2009.
I’ve written to my creditors informing them of my decision.
Please note, my DD set up with your company will cease on the date stated above.
I await written conformation from yourselves my request has been actioned.
Regards
...And the one I will be sending to my 4 creditors are:
Dear Sir / Madam
Customer Reference:
As you are aware I am currently making payments to the above account via a debt management plan with DFH Financial Solutions. Effective 1st June, I will take back sole management of this account and will continue to make payments of £xx.xx per month. I intend to review my financial situation in 6 months and would be aiming to increase my monthly payments at this stage.
I would therefore be most grateful if you could send me a statement of my account and also advise me of your bank account details so that I can set up a standing order payment for £xx.xx which will continue to be paid on the 25th of each month, starting from 25th June 2009.
I trust this is satisfactory and I look forward to your response in writing. Please be advised that this is my preferred method of contact, and would respectfully request that I do not receive phone calls, especially during working hours.
Regards
I'm feeling extremely positive about this now, and can't wait to get them sent off. I'm off upstairs to dig through my "filing" system to find addresses for all my creditors... wish me luck!

Just had to pop across and say Hi back. My DD (4) has her daddy wrapped around her fingers and toes. It is so bad that if she asks for something I tell her to go get it herself and she turns around and says 'No, Dad will get it!'
Good luck with doing the dmp on your own. I considered it but to be honest am much happier not having to deal with all our creditors - just the odd one every now and again! The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying small stones.

Hi there
Great letter you done there and great that some parts of some of the letters will help.:T Well done.
In regards of reclaiming, I help on the PPI thread (Payment Protection Insurance), for mis sold policies, if you have any you may think you have been mis sold, let me know.;)
These can be on Loans, credit cards, catalogues, store cards and much more.
Oh and I wish you luck XXThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Thanks Di!! I feel like I'm taking control, and will be in a better position to make a difference with making a payment a day etc!! :A
I'll have to have a look back through loan agreement docs to check out whether I took out PPI, as I can't remember off the top of my head! Plus I think my brain has gone to sleep but I can't drag myself off this site! :rotfl: I have a claim in for unfair bank charges at the mo and have received a second letter from the TSB but I think its basically saying I have to wait until the test case in June.
I had considered replying to them to say, when they do pay out, I would be using the money to pay off some of the debts I owe them anyway but not sure if this would be a good idea or not?0 -

Not a problem.
I would only pay back what you can afford as you have to live as well.;)
But yes when you get round to it check your credit agreements, if you no longer have these, they are easy to request for with a charge of just a pound.
All in good time and when your ready.
Good luck with this.:AThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Morning CWC. Well done on taking control and writing those letters. Now the good bit starts where you start to see the amounts decreasing. Good luck with it, I'm sure it'll be gone before long.
Belated happy birthday to your dd for yesterday. It's my older daughter's today so I get to buy cake yay lol. And we're having a takeaway. Oh of all the excuses I can find to do those things.0
