Thanks Swinstie73 - it went ok, one more to go on Thursday and then thats me exam free for a few more months! :T

Hi Yukkibear, thanks for the good luck, just home from uni so it went okay, I'm 100% happy with one of the questions, the other two I'm not so confident but hopefully have done enough to pass! I know what you mean about when you have time off you definately switch off automatic pilot!!

Having fun with my DD, thats for sure, she was all quiet earlier on today so I shouted through to her to ask what she was doing, she replied "something" which usually means something she shouldn't be, and when I went through to my bedroom she was, shall we say, 'experimenting' with my make up!! Was so cute, she was pouting into the mirror smearing it on her lips, I just had to laugh. :rotfl:

I'm off to see how my ebay items are doing, I was feeling a bit fed up earlier with the debts, and thinking I'll never get enough saved up to clear them, but then I thought once I get these exams over I'll really get a hold on my finances and sort everything out!

    Morning All!

I've received my second letter from TSB regarding my claim on bank charges, does this basically mean that I am in the que and have to wait for the test case? I had a thought that I could write back to them and explain that their charges put me in the financial predicament I was in, and that I could pay back what I'm paying through the DMP if they refunded my fees? Just a thought, there are maybe implications to this?

I'll post over on the "Reclaiming Bank Charges" forum to and see if I get any response - any opinions or advice gratefully received!!

Hmmm, the attachments don't seem to have worked, although I could see them in the reply box when I posted? Will type the main contents of the letter later, I need to go and tackle my ironing now!!

I've never dealt with bank charges so I can't help you I'm afraid.

Bet you're excited about your daughter's bed arriving tomorrow :). Can't wait to hear how you get on putting her in it as I'm both looking forward to and dreading it with my dd.

    Evening All!

In a bid to escape my revision (for my LAST exam this semester tomorrow night!) I decided to have a look at my credit file on CreditExpert.... and its left me a little bit confused!!

I appear to have defaulted on a couple of things that I didn't think I had... ie when I took out my DMP with 'un-named' fee paying company, I hadn't actually missed any payments on my egg card, I was just struggling with them. Its saying that I missed 3 consecutive payments which I suspect is due to the DMP people taking my first few months payments as their fee and not actually paying my creditors??

There is also a loan with Northern Rock which I also pay via my DMP and it doesn't even appear on my credit file - why would this be? I'm going to have to print it all off and go through it.

I can't wait to be free of exams so I can take over my DMP - these people have clearly made my situation worse that it was by making me default, which makes me angry! It says on the Credit Expert site that a satisfied default will stay on file for 6 years after it is satisfied - thats just great!!

In a bid to try and rebuild some credit score I have applied for a credit card with a HUGE interest rate... maybe not the smartest idea but my theory is that I will only use it for, perhaps diesel once a month at no more than £30 which I'll pay off in full. My OH will keep it for me to make sure, but after looking at my crappy credit score I wouldn't be surprised if I don't get it!

On a happier note, thanks Yukkibear! Do you have your DD in her bed yet? I've given my DD her pillow into her cot with her tonight with her new fairy bedcovers so that she can get used to them - she is soooo excited about her bed arriving, its so sweet! :j I will definately keep you posted on the progress!

Think I'm off to chill out in the bath and then pop back on before bed!

I think if I'm right that getting that credit card is a good idea to build your credit score (as long as you pay off in full each month).

Nope we don't have the bed up yet. I have told OH he has to measure up and get a price for a carpet this weekend whilst I'm at work. I've been looking at curtains and I need to buy the wallpaper then and only then we can put the bed up lol.

I'm working loads over the next couple of weeks as well as it being dd1's birthday next week and dd2's in a couple of weeks so money wont be in great supply for decorating materials.

 Hi Yukkibear and any lurkers!

Just a quick post just now until I get more time later, I've received a cheque for £11.62 today for CD's which I sold to MusicMagpie - the process seemed much quicker than I was expecting, so I will definately be using them again.... off to the bank to pay it in, will be back online later in between ebay listings!

Hello folks, just updating with my new plan, which I've been mulling over since before my exams, but didn't want to put it into action while trying to do revision as well!

I am planning on writing to my evil fee paying Debt Management company to advise them that I no longer require their services and that I will be taking over the management of my debts and communications with my creditors.

I will then write to my creditors to advise them of this and to request details to set up direct debits to each for the same amount each month. The only difference will be the payment will come from my account and not the afore mentioned evil company.

Because my DD to my DMP Co goes out on the 25th of the month, I figure I am too late to do it for May, so they can do the May payment and then I will have the letters ready to send on the 26th, so that for June I can make the payments myself direct from my own bank account.

Does anyone have any template letters for this kind of thing? If not I might post my letters on here and see if anyone can advise if they are ok.

Once I have this under control, and have made the first payments, I then hope to begin making a payment a day to Lloyds TSB as they are my biggest creditor. They have already sent me a pay in book which I can use in the local branch to make additional payments. I've read that some people don't do this because it can be seen to be favouring creditJust out of interest, how would other creditors know I was making extra payments to one particular creditor?

I plan to fund the payment-a-day plan by selling things on the sales board at work, ebay, car boot sales, quidco, online bingo (only FREE ones tho!) and anything else that comes my way. I do surverys online for pureprofile but these seem to be few and far between so any other recommendations would be fab!

Anyway, in the meantime I have some money tucked away that I will use for paying off my Next Account (£211) and my Halifax Credit Card (£287) which are not under the management of my DMP Co and get rid of them before I start!

Any advice or in the meantime would be great!! THanks for reading! :bye:

Hi CPC. Good luck with your new plan, sounds like a good one to me. I am not sure of whether it's seen as favouring creditors sorry, hope someone can answer that for you though.
Have you looked through the templates on this site? Or perhaps a google search?

It's exciting when you get a new plan and the motivation kicks in isn't it.

    Do you do
    - lightspeed
    - mytns
    - and when my brain is working I'll put some others.

How's your daughter getting on in her bed?
I'm working all this weekend which is pants but never mind. At least I can't spend too much money

Thanks Yukkibear, I don't do lightspeed or mytns so I'll have to check those out - will send you a message and you can "refer" me if thats something that we can do!

DD is loving her big girl bed - she goes in no problem and gets her bedtime story. She was shouting downstairs to us earlier tonight, just "What you doing?" type stuff really! My friend has a little boy around 9 months older than my DD and she says that once the novelty wears off they are out the bed every 5 minutes!!

Don't work too hard this weekend!! x

Hi I've sent you a pm with a list of sites you may be able to look at. Hope they help a bit and if I can refer you even better lol.

Shattered after work today and have to do it all over again tomorrow but hey ho.
Glad your dd is liking her bed. I wouldn't get "what you doing?" I'd get "mama, daddyyyyyy" lol.
