My journey towards Debt Freedom!!

  • I can't believe I haven't been on my diary for a WHOLE WEEK!! This is not good for motivation! :P

Not much been happening on the debt busting front, I seem to have become a little bit stuck! I've been trying to get my head around matched betting, and think I am getting there, but am back to Uni 2 nights a week as of this week so just won't have the time to spend on it I don't think.

On top of that, I've been offered a promotion at work, which I know is fantastic in this economic climate where people are losing their jobs left right and centre, but with studying and still having my duties from my current role to do as well as the new stuff - I'm tired just thinking about it all!!

The plus side is that my salary has been reviewed and my boss has an offer letter for me, which I will get on Monday. Hopefully I will be able to use the extra to chuck towards my debt.

I did get my expenses back for my tuition fee's this year and have been hoping to make a !!!!!! offer to one creditor with it. The amount is £941 and the loan I was planning on making the offer to has around £2600 outstanding so I think I will need to save another couple of hundred before I can make the offer.

I also have £70 to pay this month to my sports and social at work for a shopping trip in November (for which I have not saved) and I had to spend £280 on a spring that snapped on my car. It is never ending spending at the mo!!

What do you think about the !!!!!! offer with what I have just now - is this silly to offer when I only have 36(ish)% of what I owe? The debt is with a DMC so they may not have paid a great deal for the debt?
  • Think I'm going to aim for daily updates again, so here is todays!

Went to my local car boot sale this morning, and picked up some great bargains. Got a couple of things for DD's Christmas stocking that are brand new and still in the original box so I am really pleased. Also picked up a Little Tykes Kitchen for her too - for £10. She loves it already so I am quite please with my purchases!! :T Not exactly money-saving, but it wasn't spending HUGE amounts so I don't feel guilty for it.

Have just checked the status of a bet I had on today as my first attempt at matched betting and it won at the bookies so, although I am down at Betfair I am about to withdraw £86-ish from my bookie account and I only paid in £25 - ubber pleased with this!! I am going to up my float at betfair to take advantage of the SNR offers so hopefully I have some spending money for my annual chrimbo shopping trip.

I am rambling now, so off to scour the bookmakers for some good odds!
