    Morning CWC

I would suggest a separate account (s) for things such as car (tax, mot, service, repairs), birthdays and xmas, etc.

I have one for car, presents and clothes. I haven't managed to budget properly for these yet but will as the car especially should be part of your monthly budget, not doing what I do and paying for the car tax etc when it's due and then being skint that month.

Hi damnsam, thanks for popping by!! I feel like its taking forever to get anywhere with my debts, but it is slowing coming down. I'd be absolutely delighted if I could get in below £10k by the end of the year but we'll see!

Morning Yukkibear! I was thinking about doing the post office savings stamps for the road tax at least, so that I didn't have the temptation of dipping into it!! I will probably have to budget for other car bits and pieces too so I might set up another instant access online account to stash some money away!!

Off to have something to eat before I head off to my exam..... be back on later, wish me luck folks!!

Thanks cwc. When do your exams finish? Glad yesterdays went ok for you
  • Hi Yukkibear, I have one on Thursday, one on Monday and a piece of coursework to submit on Monday too! Then I have until the 15th September before we start again for our final year. Hopefully I can have 1 whole month of debt busting, thats the plan anyway!

OIC well good luck for the final ones and then you can get cracking on those figures.
  • Thanks Yukkibear, I can't wait to get stuck in!! Only one more weekend of revision and coursework and then I can really get cracking with it!!

I have received my £50 Tesco Voucher in the post from when I opened my Sky account so think I will try and sell it at work and that will be a nice little start to my £500 aim for August. Between that and the £60 cashback, it'll be a nice start towards my target. We've started food shopping in Asda because we were spending between £80 and £90 per week at Tesco's so I figure I am putting it to better use just selling it and getting the hard cash!!

My mum also has a buggy that she had for my daughter which she is going to give me to sell, and because she got it for free from a work colleague she says I can keep the money - so that will go towards my £500 in August target too! I'll collect it at the weekend and take some photos to advertise it - even if I get £20 or £30 for it, it will all help!
