My journey towards Debt Freedom!!

Hi Yukkibear, I know what you mean about having so much toys!! With Birthdays fast approaching I'm sure we'll both end up with a load more! My DD is into her stickers and colouring in as well. I bought her crayola pens at christmas time that were suitable from 12months and they're great - water based so wash off of everything and anything!!
Sounds like your garden is taking shape! I guess it is a slow process! I don't want my MIL anywhere near mine... (unless she's maybe underneath it!!) hoping it can be my little project and hobby to do to help me chill out.. in a cheap and cheerful way!
I've not really had much of a MSE day today.. although I have had a NSD so thats always good! Some of my ebay items are ending tonight so there are 7 that will sell and a couple with watchers, I'll just relist the rest until I do go to the car boot sale I think!
Have an Independant Financial Advisor coming round this evening to look at our mortgage, our 2 year fixed rate with the bank ends in July so hoping to make a saving there. We are currently at 5.9% so I'm hoping we can get something less than that and fix it!!
Will probably pop back on later to say Hi!0 -
Just had a peek at my ebay items I listed and out of the 20 I have listed, 12 have bids and 2 have "watchers" - I'm extremely pleased!! All just stuff I stuck on at 99p to see if it would sell... and most of it has!! :j
They all have around 12-14 hours to go so fingers crossed they all pay up quickly! I'm loving ebaying again... I've rediscovered my love for listing! :rotfl:0 -
Morning cwc. Well done on your ebay sales. I need to send OH to the post office this morning as he has the day off and I may as well make use of him lol.0

Morning Yukkibear!! or Actually Afternoon now! :hello:
Had the ebay emails flooding in today so only three haven't sold and the rest that have ended are sold - woo hoo!! Have some bits and pieces to list tonight, so the plan is 1 hour of ebaying once DD is in bed and then its back to studying!! I might sneak in an Eastenders too I'll see how energetic I feel!
Need to have a chat with OH about his mother too - he wants to go and see them which is fair enough, but it feels like he is hinting at me to go too and I'm not going!! Not even that keen on him taking our DD to theirs at the moment, but I'm going horse-riding at the weekend so am hoping he goes then. Don't want to have to see her prentending shes this nice old lady and being all over my daughter when I just want to scream at her to leave us alone!! You can choose your friends....... :rotfl:
Anyway, at work so I guess I better get back to it!! Will pop back on later and say hello!....0 -
Oo-er sounds like you have happy relations going on there with the MIL! Mine thankfully is lovely about 75% of the time. Until she starts telling dd what to do and taking over when I'm in the room then my blood starts to boil but that's another story lol.
Who'd have family eh lol.
That's brilliant about the ebay listings though, you're really on a roll that debt will be shrinking by the day.0 -

Lol, you can say that again!! (Re the MiL!!) I always thought she was really nice until a few weeks ago, she invited me round for a "chat" and then preceded to tear strips off me about me and my partner, and saying all sorts of nonsense about our relationship and also about them not liking the fact that my daughter has my name and not theirs blah blah blah...then a few days later I get his sister (half sister actually) mouthing off at me on the phone as well, gettin her chip in too!!
So as you can imagine, I don't really fancy tea and biscuits with any of them at the mo!! :rotfl:
She does that thing too, telling DD what to do in front of you, or speaking in a really patronising way if DD does something that I don't let her do "No now MUMMY doesn't like you doing that" - yes well I am her MUM not you! Can you tell that it makes my blood boil too?!! Actually feel much better after that rant!!
On a positive note (now I have vented my MIL frustrations lol) the ebaying is going great, its always a bonus when you get sales, especially for little things you didn't think anyone would want, but chucked it on ebay anyway!!
I'm going to go and list a few things, catch up on a few diaries then I'll be back with my masterplan for my week and a half off work!!
Oohh Yukkibear, got a call tonight from Tesco direct to say DD's bed will be delivered next Thursday - so she has a few more nights in her cot until she's officially in her big girl bed!! Did you get your DD's bed in and set up, or was it tomorrow it was coming? xx0 -
:hello:
I'm back after my Ebay Fix!! I have just listed another 15 CDs, they seem quite quick to go on and even with the fee's they are still making me more at 99p on ebay than they would fetch from MusicMagpie - that is now my second port of call for my old CDs!!
So my grand plan for my week and a half off work includes, but is not limited to!! the following:
* Spend LOADS of quality Mother/Daughter time with my little one, feel like I don't get to do enough of this with working and studying too
* Get my spare room cleaned up, its in a bit of a muddle with all my CD's and ebay stuff in little piles!
* Get my desk into some sort of order, I work from home 2 days per week and my desk is a bit of a jungle right now!
* Copy all the CD's I have sold/am selling onto my iTunes until I get an external harddrive to store them on, incase I ever feel the need for a blast from the past!!
* Get DD's bedroom ready for the arrival of her new "Big Girl Bed" which is coming next Thursday, so that gives me some time!!
* List at LEAST 10 new items on ebay per day to try and boost my savings for my Debt Free Target
* Enquire to website which buys old copies of Magazines, I have tonnes of Ok! that I could part with
Think that is all, but I will be on every day to check my list and make sure I actually do the things on it!! Find a "cyber" list is better anyway, if I write all this down I'll only go and loose the bit of paper!! :rotfl:0 -
I feel your pain with the MIL lol. Mine wouldn't tear strips off me as such in a direct manner as she knows I wouldn't let her have dd when I do. But she does call me Mummy and my OH Daddy and sometimes my dd gets called Babe! I mean !!!!!! is that all about lol don't we have names?
I would steer clear of yours for a while don't blame you. My older daughter has my name but dd2 has her dad's as we're planning on getting married at some point, but it always was an issue with the ex in laws, never understood why.
The bed is here but until I wallpaper and get a new carpet in her room then I'm not putting the bed up so it will prob be next month that she goes into her big bed, though I do want to do it now lol.
Good luck with your list.0 -

Lol, thanks for that, it always seems a bit less stressful when you get it off your chest!! My MIL has blown it with watching my daughter as far as I'm concerned, she's not talking to me the way she did then expecting me to happily hand over my daughter to her whenever she feels like it. They can come and visit if they want, but I don't want any more involvement form them than that.
Great news about the bed, thats probably a wise idea to wait until you have the room all decorated before you put it up. I can't wait to get DD in her's I wish it would hurry up and arrive!! I have to laugh at my daughter just now, she is clumping back and forth in a pair of my platform stilletto shoes and actually managing to walk in them!! Speak about starting young!! :rotfl:
Have looked out my ebay pile for today, so will get that on at some point. I also have to take my car back to the garage from last week because the tyre is flat as a pancake again and I can't afford a new tyre every few months because I'm running it flat!
Other than getting the car seen to I need to get this spare room/home office cleaned up and in an organised manner today - that is my mission, along with at least 1 hours economics revision.... best get cracking!!0 -
Hope you squeezed the revision in0
