My journey towards Debt Freedom!!

  • Got the car insurance sorted!!... with quidco so will hopefully get the £45 cashback!!

While I was on Quidco I was looking at RAC Cover, I think I might get this when I get paid next month, I didn't realise it was so reasonable, plus there is £20 cashback so that would mean the cover would only really "cost" £9 and the £20 would be another "days" money towards my debt free date......

Will be back on tomorrow... night everyone!

    Hi CWC,

Well done on the car insurance! How does Quidco work, I've heard of it but never looked it up. Do they do house insurance too? Just remembered mines is up for renewal soon.

Hello Swinstie, thanks!! I LOVE quidco - I signed up because I'd heard about it on MSE and thought I would give it a try. Its cashback for loads of online purchases, including insurance - you would probably get home insurance there too. Its definately worth going on for a browse, I joined probably about a year ago and have made £180 to date - some people say they've made more in their first year.

I've not had a chance to come on today until now - 11:30pm!! I'm at my parents house for the weekend, so had hoped to get stuck into my revision, but not so far..... :o I WILL get proper into it tomorrow tho, I took longer to get here than I thought so it knocked me off schedule for today!!

Hope you've all had a nice day, and enjoy the long weekend! xxx

    Morning All!

Just passing through and thought I would update my diary for today! I got a statement from Nothern Rock today at my mum and dads house of the payments I have made via my DMP - there was also a line on the bottom dated 22nd April 2009 with a credit of £450 for "Direct Debit Fees" - what could this be? It looks to me like I've been refunded something?

I'm not complaining because it takes what I am owe them down from £3200 to somwhere around £2750-ish!! Should I phone them up to find out? I wouldn't want it to bite me on the bum if it was a mistage or anything! Any opinions?

Just popping in with todays update.... Revision isn't going to hot, think I'm overloading my brain and its not coping!! Will probably go home tonight and maybe have a nice day out with OH and DD tomorrow to try and chill me out before the exam!! Speaking of DD she is out with my parents so I am going to go for an ice cream before they come back!!!

Have sold one of my "Buy it Now" items on ebay for £28.50 so that is another day and a half (almost) towards my settlement offers target.

Have been thinking about taking on my creditors myself and have decided to write to them all once my exams are over and take back control of my accounts - and sack DFH!! I'll have to write to them too, so I guess me taking over from them will become effective after my May payment to them. Don't want any overlaps or lapses in payments so this will give me time to set up standing orders to my creditors. I'm hoping this will help when it comes to offering !!!!!! offers at the end of the year too.

Anyway, off for that ice cream.... I can hear it calling on me!.....:rotfl:

Thanks yukkibear... the ice cream was fab! I'm going to wait until my exams are over and then I'll get the letters written up and sent off.

Have had another little boost to my ebay "stock" my mum has given me two dresses (one of which I'm going to keep cuz I like it!) a 17 inch flat monitor and keyboard, and a huge gift set of papmer goodies - will get them on ebay this week - once this dreaded exam is over with!!

That will boost your ebay sales a lot well done. I'm ebaying all the carp I keep finding lying around now lol. Even at 99p it's not losing me any money and a bonus if it sells.

    Yes, I'm really pleased! :j
I noticed when I was listing last week that the listings starting at 99p are free, which is a bonus. I've got a box at home with some stuff I need to stick on at 99p - as you say, its not losing any money by listing it and its great if it does sell!

That's what I chuck a lot of my stuff on for now. If they go for more fantastic, if they go at all great if they don't I hit the relist button until they do lol.
I am finding that a lot of the stuff either sells towards the end of the month or it sells on the third time round etc.

    Every 99p helps lol
