I hope it isn't anything too serious where the In-laws are concerned...mind you, if they are anything like mine, everything is serious
it's a real shame about the car and them having to take extra time over it, but hopefully that will be it now for quite some timeAnd you are right to keep a positive attitude about the next time
I think it's pretty difficult to judge these things right when it comes to car...they seem to be a law unto themselves LOL
How much "month" do you have to make he £30 last for?
Hi Lovey! The MIL is just showing her "concern" which from where I am standing is nothing more than unwanted interference!! I just don't want that kind of involvement from my OH's parents, or mine - luckily mine are brilliant and I couldn't do without my daily calls to my mum - she makes everything ok again!!
The car is a bit of a pain, but hey ho, I need it for uni and for getting to and from seeing my parents, they live about 80 miles from me so its an essential I guess.
On the up side, I put a £50 cash withdrawl on my spreadsheet twice, so that gives me £80, plus my £80 child tax credit so I should actually be ok!! I get too engrossed in that spreadsheet and had put my £50 withdrawl in twice - better than not at all tho!
My pay day is the 25th of each month so I have a while to go yet this month!0 -
Ouch on the car. It could have been worse I guess.
Hi yukkibear, I know, my last car cost me £600 for its last MOT with me so I am glad it wasn't as much as that! I'm keeping a Positive Mental Attitude, I need the car so the cost of running it is unavoidable I guess!.....
Positive Mental Attitude... Positive Mental Attitude... Positive Mental Attitude...Positive Mental Attitude... :j0 -

I know!! Kinda like men, can't live with them, can't live without them! :rotfl:Fingers crossed thats it for another year, and I'm debt free before the next MOT!0 -
Well hello there folks! Just a quick update for today, I've just had an email to say my expenses from work will be paid into my bank account on Friday, :T which makes me on target for my "£20 a day to clear my debts" plan until 4th May!! (well £20 until December and I'll be able to make full and final settlement offers plan, but I know what I mean!)
Appart from that not too much going on, haven't had a NSD as I spent 60p on a can of juice at work, bad me! But on the flip side, I brought my lunch with me again today so haven't had to buy anything.
Have checked my items on ebay and I only have 2 with watchers and 1 with an actual bid - but better than nothing at all!!
Will be back on later to say hi.... in the meantime, happy debt-busting to you all! x0 -
Hiya!
Fantastic news on the expenses being paid! and will keep my fingers crossed that your ebays are successful too
As for inlaws, OH and I dpn't get along with either set of parents (long story) so I very rarely hear from my side and he very rarely hears form his side, and to be honest, it seems to suit us just fine.
It does get a bit lonely though, with Oh's condition, neither of us have much opportunity to leave the house, so although we have each other, sometimes you need someone else..if that makes any sense at all!lol!
But like you, I try to keep with the PMAI try it for a mantra daily these days
I think 60p for a can is fine, and that things could have been quite a lot worse all things considering, so well done you on bringing your own lunch and not splurging too much!:T0 -
Hey Kadiya! I'm glad about the expenses, helps give me a little boost towards the Debt Free Target!
I get along just fine with my parents, but they live a fair distance away! :P They wouldn't dream of interfering in my relationships unless I asked for help, but the MIL seems to think everything is her business! I know she's my DD's Gran but at the end of the day I'm just not confortable in her company these days, and I'm not that keen on her spending time with my DD either! Never mind, you can chose your friends!!....
That is sad if you feel it gets a bit lonely, I guess there are pro's and con's of not seeing much of them. Definately makes sense, you sometimes just need a friendly face and a chat about nothing in particular! Have a cyber hug from me!! :grouphug: (couldn't find a single hug, so have a group hug!!)
I don't think my can of juice will set back my Debt Free Date either, just means I can't have a NSD Gold Star today! :rotfl:0 -
I've received a letter today from Lloyds TSB regarding my "complaint". I sent a letter about my bank charges last week. The letter basically says, someone is looking into it and will get back to me with a response within 4 weeks. Fine, fair enough.
I just picked up my mobile and there is a voicemail on it saying I need to call them regarding a personal financial matter - I'm guessing its about the claim because I no longer bank with them. I just wondered if anyone had this experience with any bank and whether I should call back or not? I'm kinda curious but at the same time, perfer to converse with them in writing so that all comms are documented. I've posted on the claiming back bank charges page too just to see if anyone there can help.
Any thoughts?0 -
LOL
That is a very, um, dodgy looking hug
OH just saw it...but I wont repeat what he said to me:o;)
It is appreciated though
As for the phone calls thing...I've just been reading through a couple of threads, and from what I can tell, you should keep a diary of all the times that they call you regarding this, refuse to be drawn into a conversation about it, because you have said you request all communication in writing and if you don't hear from them in writing in 4 weeks, then pursue it.
I just read a thread which was hilarious, by someone called ZincOxide (I don't know how to find the thread again, sorry:o) who kept get unsolicitated phonecalls...maybe have a look around for it?You'll love it!0 -
:rotfl: I couldn't find a "normal" hug Kadiya!
I've sold the first of my 25 items I listed on ebay at the weekend - woo hoo! :T
Didn't call back Lloyds, I'm going to stick to my guns and wait until they respond in writing. They said four weeks so they'll get four weeks, then I'll re-assess the situation!
Just sneaked on while I'm supposed to be revising, really tired tonight for some reason so once the washing is finished I think I'm going to head to bed.

Not much to report today folks!
Need to get my car insurance sorted out. Was going to do it via Sheila's Wheels / Quidco as it was the best price plus they do £45 cash back (2 and 1/4's days money for the !!!!!! plan!) BUT they don't accept my rubbish Visa Electron Card. I'm going to ask my OH if I can transfer the money into his account and I'll pay with his Visa instead. I don't want to loose the cashback if I can help it!!
Appart from that, nothing else happening. No more phone calls from Lloyds TSB so thats good.... I think?!!
