  • Thanks! My course is Business Management, its the last year of a degree I started when I left school but only did the first two years and left with a diploma. It is hard going studying while working and having a house to look after with a wee one, but my partner is great and it will be worth it in the end!!

The garage have just phone so there are only 2 problems, one shouldn't be too expensive and one they are going to investigate further and call me back - so I hope its something simple, I don't want to ruin this months budget :P

I know it can be pretty hard studying, running a home, working and raising a child, it was the whole reason behind me giving up my education. In the end I was on my own with a young one, no job, no finished education and plenty of debt
Things are different now because I have the OH and more(!) children, but I would love to have a degree behind me, even if it's just to prove to my kiddies that anything is possible and they are capable of doing the same :)
I think it's great that you are being supported while you finish off :D

How did the car get on? Hope it wasnt too much. We've just been through the last month of car trouble with one needing fixing and the other dying. Got one fixed but then had to buy a new car (hence my new diary to pay that off now on here lol), so I can relate to car worries.

    Morning Kadiya and yukkibear!

Sorry I didn't get back on last night!! I have been having some hassle off the in-laws (MIL mainly) and last night my FIL turned up at the door - kind of put me off my train of thought and didn't get back online :(

So, yesterday the garage phoned to say that my handbrake needed fixing and something to do with a brake pipe so they'll fix that and re-test it. Apparently they ran out of time yesterday so will be in touch today when its ready. They were supposed to call back to tell me how much it would cost but so far they haven't... just hope its within my budget, I have my sisters birthday this month and my daughters so need some spare dosh for gifts!!

Oh almost forgot to add - I managed to list a total of 25 items on ebay yesterday, so far three have watchers so fingers crossed I get some sales!
  • My car is now ready to be collected, after which my purse will be £316 lighter!! Thats me got about £30 left for the month :(:(:(

  • Just wanted to say good luck with getting your debt sorted out.

Glad your car is now fixed, it's a shame the cost has gone over your budget. I will be taking my car for it's mot on Thursday and I am hoping it isn't going to cost me an arm, 2 legs and my head like last year.
    Smile loan - £2821.98 / £0:)
    Lloyds CC - £3102.54 / £3071.51
    B'Card - £7615.65 / £7444.30
    Bank of mom - £6000 / £6000
    28/02/17 £ 19,540.17 / £16515.81 05/04/17

Thanks for your message! I'm a bit disappointed its over what I estimated but thats life I guess! Hopefully I'll be debt free by the next MOT and it won't hurt so much!! Do let me know how you get on with yours, hope its not tooo much!!

I hope it isn't anything too serious where the In-laws are concerned...mind you, if they are anything like mine, everything is serious ;)
it's a real shame about the car and them having to take extra time over it, but hopefully that will be it now for quite some time :) And you are right to keep a positive attitude about the next time :)
I think it's pretty difficult to judge these things right when it comes to car...they seem to be a law unto themselves LOL
How much "month" do you have to make he £30 last for?

Damnation for cars, they cost so much and you can never budget for them properly! Hopefully it will be fine for another year at least.
