My journey towards Debt Freedom!!

  • So have just received the £20 from Paypal for my ebay sales from last week. Have transferred £10 of this straight onto the credit card, and kept £10 - I forgot about fathers day so will need to get cards!!

I've sold a few of my items I had posted at work so that will go to the card too. So far only £15 but I have someone coming to look at a box of books that I am looking for £30 for.

The £45 cashback from Sheila's Wheels has been "Received" in my Quidco so that will be paid this month along with a few other things in Quidco so I think its around £57 I should get. At this rate I will hopefully get rid of the credit card before the end of June!!

Off to update my sig with that £10....

You're doing so well with keeping motivated with ebay etc. I'm in the middle of moving house and have to sell a load of furniture. It's not easy!

    Well done:D

Thanks Raini - come and waffle any time!! I've tried to make things okay enough so that OH parents can come and at least see our DD but it doesn't seem to be good enough so I'm done trying. If for nothing else, for my OH to still have a civil relationship with his folks but his mum doesn't seem to want that, its all her way or nothing at all. At least I now feel like I have done enough to try and resolve the situation and it hasn't worked...

    Theres nothing stranger than people!

Thanks RMR!! Ooh so the move is taking place!! Exciting stuff, I'll need to pop back on to your diary for a catch up!

Thats the idea opportunity to make a bit of cash, while you are moving! My ebaying is just a case of going through one box of baby clothes at a time, seems to be doing okay, I'm getting the payments through and now have another £20~ in my paypal account that I think I will transfer today actually - might as well keep the funds coming into my bank account!

Just a little update to my diary that I have received the cheque for £29.55 from the company who charged my account ages after I cancelled the order. That will have to be paid into the bank and can come off the credit card too!

Well I have just returned from my weekly food shop and have managed to do it for (Drum-Roll) £42.57!!!

For me thats a massive acheivement, I was spending around £85 per week not so long ago, but as my OH says, whats the point in all this money saving in every other aspect, if I'm going to go and spend £100 in tesco's each week?

Off to add it to my spreadsheet then watch Big Bro... sad I know!...

Wow well done on loads of parts from me. Brilliant news about the exams. What does that mean for you now?

How did you get your shopping that low? Did you forget everything lol. I would love mine to be around that figure but only if I get everything I needed. Think about the extra that you would have spent could now be chucked at the debt.

Thanks yukkibear! The exams were the end of semester 2 of my second year of my degree course, so it means onto semester 3 without any re-sits! :j I am more than half way through semester 3 now and we skip third year because we are already working (mature students) and go straight to the final year, year 4. Its passing quite quickly so I'm starting to feel like there is light at the end of the tunnel.... and a decent payrise on the horizon!

I was quite impressed with the shopping, I did a meal plan for the week which I usually do, and I went to Asda instead of tesco's which I don't usually do because I'm not a big Asda fan - but for that kind of weekly saving, I can learn to tolerate it!! We have also decided that because my OH is weekly paid, he will get the weekly food shop, and because I am monthly paid, I will get a monthly shop of just cleaning products, toiletries, nappies, generally all non-food products etc, which I think will make it easier.

Have also just received my latest £20 from paypal so that has been sent to the credit card along with another £5 I had sitting in the bank. Have around £50 coming from Quidco at the end of the month and also my refund cheque which I will pay into the bank today, so hopefully not too much longer before I am free of this creditor!

Am excited that the test case against the banks begins tomorrow.... hope things go our way!!
