Glad that the spreadsheet will work for you, I'm really into mine now, and it seems to work really well for me!
I've just had such a boost when I went onto my Quidco... the story is, I got Martin's weekly Newsletter today and noticed the bit about the Sky+ HD. I clicked on the link and read it (and the thread) and noticed someone said the cashback on Quidco was good, £60 for taking Sky+ HD.
My OH had ordered Sky+ HD and it was taking ages plus were charging an installation fee, so we thought if we could get it with cashback and no installation fee, then we'd open another Sky Account in my name. So, I went onto Quidco and right enough it was £60 cashback, so we clicked through and put in the order, using me as a new account.
Have just checked my Quidco and its saying £130 from SKY!!! I'm so pleased! I hope its not a mistake, but I'm sure I read somewhere on the original thread about the Sky deal that the Quidco Cashback was £130 but I just thought it had come back down to £60!! :j0 -

Morning. That's exciting news about having all your creditors back under your control, well done and good luck with it.
Brilliant cash back on the sky+. I don't want the extra monthly bill for sky at the mo so will just stick with what we have.
I'm a bit obsessed with the spreadsheet now I'm using it lol but I wish I had started using it ages ago. It's stopped me spending this week that's for sure so that's got to be a good thing.0 -

You definately should! For £130 cashback its a really good deal, plus Sky are giving you a £50 Tesco voucher so that will cover 1 weeks shopping for us. Its definately the MSE way to get Sky+ HD!!

Thanks Yukkibear, I am actually looking forward to making my payments this month - is that sad?!! We already have Sky so it won't be any different for us. It comes out of OH's bank anyway so I don't mind!
Glad to hear the spreadsheet is doing the trick - I am the same, if I think I'm going to have to list something under miscellaneous spending, it makes me think about it first!
Have just checked my ebay so I now have 3 items with bids and all of them have watchers which is good! I didn't get anything listed yesterday but I might try and do it tonight. I don't want to get to the stage where I don't have any listings, I want to keep it ticking over, if you know what I mean!0 -
No that doesn't make you sad at all. I was really miffed when my loan wasn't paid on time the other day and was only happy when the money had gone from my account onto the loan! Never have I been happy about payig a bill like that before lol.
I have tweaked the spreadsheet to include alcohol, wasting money as I call it (supermarket lunch etc) because this WILL make me cut this area down.0 -

I guess being like this will paying things is better than being the other end of the scale and not paying them! Its just great to have this site to keep these diaries and 'borrow' other peoples money making/saving ideas, its making me very determined to get the debt cleared!
I totally agree with you, if you look at what you spend on alcohol and buying lunches each day, its actually a really good eye opener to make you cut back!
I plan on having a No Spend Weekend this weekend too, going to my parents with my DD so it should be relatively easy, I'll just get stuck into Uni work and my parents will have the pleasure of my DD's company for the weekend!
What is everyone else up to this weekend?0 -
Lucky you! We're hopefully having a chilled out weekend. Have beer left over from last weeks party so effectively free booze lol. I've managed 3 days (inc today) as nsd this week and would love to carry it through the weekend. Fingers crossed.
I just told my older dd that she couldn;t have money for fish and chips for her and her friend and nor could she "borrow" it from her birthday money. I felt really mean as she had a friend over but both kids have had loads over the last few weeks and I just can't keep doing it.
Sorry I didn't quite mean to rant there.0 -
Well I'm getting ready to head home from my parents this afternoon and the boot of my car is full of things to sell! My mum has had a clear out so has said we can split the profits of the stuff I have to sell from her... although there are a few things that are mine so I'll be keeping those profits! :rotfl:
On the downside, I'm feeling crap about going home because OHs parents are coming over tonight to have a "chat". I shouldn't feel rubbish because I called them and invited them to try and sort the carry on we've been having out (I think I've spoken about it before on my diary) but I don't like confrontation and I just know I won't be able to say all the stuff I want to, wish I wasn't so soft!
The one thing I am keeping in my head is that I am the bigger person by making the first move, will just have to keep repeating that to myself and have those Ally McBeal style moments when you want to do something like pour a drink over someone but you just can't so you do it in your head instead.... I'm rambling now, happens when I'm feeling uncomfortable and squirmish...0 -
Good luck with the in-laws. Don't envy you there. You are the bigger person though and they will be in your home so you have that one up on them too. If things get too uncomfortable get up and leave the room for a minute or too.
