    Hi cpw and thanks IF.

That's great news on the next account and the cheque. All you need now is the parking fine to be turned over.

I really want to be sub 2k by the end of June but not sure if I'll do it to be honest. We've had a massive spend weekend with dd2's birthday and we're taking OH's aunty and uncle out for lunch tomorrow so that's 6 plus a toddler to pay for - eek. I'll do my best on the loan though.

    Evening All!!

I was just online updating my spending spreadsheet so thought I would update my diary. I was reading through my receipts before I updated my spreadsheet and noticed a line on my receipt from Lidl that was £9.77 - I only bought fruit, veg and meat from there so thought it was a bit strange. I went back over my shopping list and compared it to the receipt and the only thing I thought it could have been was peppers!! I went straight back to Lidl's and apparently there was a digit missing from the code for the peppers - which should only have been 79p!! They refunded me the whole £9.77, so I am quite pleased with myself for going back!! Once upon a time I would have just chucked the receipt at the shop and never thought about checking things off!!

I've also managed to get my spreadsheet and my bank balance exactly the same!! :j It was 26p out and it was bugging me, but I had put a line in for tesco's with the wrong amount! Think I will go and pay £7.29 off my credit card, which will make it £270, I'm going to be a bit like you Yukkibear, with the amounts being rounded!! Will also mean I can update my signature too!

Have the paypal money coming too which is another £18 but I'm not taking it off the amount due on the credit card until I actually pay it off - otherwise I'll think its "paid" and I'll end up spending the money

Off to do some coursework this evening.... hope you all have a good weekend!!

Lol I hate wierd numbers, and prefer round figures lol. You sound like you're good with spreadsheets, I wish I was. Do you have a template you use? and what do you track in yours?

Lol, I'm starting to get the same with the weird numbers, it just looks neater if its rounded!

I do have a template that I use, I've actually sent it to a couple of people, and I'm even converting people at work slowly too!! If you want to PM me your email addy I can send it to you to see if it would help you.

I track everything that comes in and goes out of my bank account in the main sheet, then I have one which I track food shopping, how much we spend, the date, if I paid or my OH paid, where we shopped etc. I also have a sheet for car expenditure where I track fuel, repairs, MOT, tyres (which I seem to be murdering at the moment!!) road tax, insurance etc. Then I have a sheet where I track all other miscellaneous spending, which I have to say has slowed right down since I started listing all the magazines, lunchtime snacks when I'm working etc etc!!

Seriously though, its quite interesting to see where exactly your pennies are going, and its helped me to get a grip on my finances. I update it pretty much every day, and if it doesn't match the bank exactly it really bugs me!!

Oh PS - I paid that £7.29 off my CC so I have a nice round balance! :rotfl:

Well done on getting an even balance lol. At this rate if we keep rounding down all the time, the debt will be gone in no time.

I'll pm you my addy for that spreadsheet.

Ha, thats true - the rounding down is also chipping away at the debts!! I'm really going to try and get rid of my credit card before payday this month (25th) because that would mean I could make my first additional payment to one of my bigger creditors!!

I still haven't heard back from Egg about what I am owe them so if I don't hear by the middle of this week I will call them I think. I actually think they might be one of the smaller ones, around £1k I think... but not 100% sure!

Off to ebay again soon to check my items I have ending tonight, I'm easily pleased!!

    Morning!

Thanks yukkibear, I think I might call Egg later today, I'm getting anxious and want them all set up on my internet banking asap! DFH (the evil debt management co) seem to have stopped calling so hopefully they have taken the hint... unless they are waiting to see if I actually have cancelled my standing order then they'll start pestering me again!

The mini-target 2 is just going to be from ebay stuff and other bits and bobs. I have some CD's that haven't sold on ebay, despite being relisted a few times so going to magpie them! I also have that £29.55 cheque I'm waiting for so I plan to use that, along with £18 from paypal which should hit the bank on on before 10th June. I've also made around £25 from ebay listings that ended yesterday, the payments are coming in dribs and drabs this morning so that will be chucked at the card too! Its great that you aren't charged for taking out less than £50 now, means you don't have to wait for that target.

We are also going to sell our Wii because we never look at it, it was a total novelty when we bought it so its going. My OH actually bought it so I don't think I can count on that money for my Credit Card but he might give me a small contribution off his takings.... or at least I hope he will!

Just having a browse through my usual websites before I go to bed... ebay to check my sales, MSE to update my diary, facebook for a quick nose (!!) Quidco to see how thats coming along!!

I have £12~ish due for payment at some point in June from Quidco that I didn't realise so that will go the the Credit card too. I have 46 from my car insurance which has now been validated so hopefully that comes through before the payment is made in June and that will be almost £50 that I can throw at the card.

I've taken some pics of some more baby clothes, I'm just taking one box down from the loft at a time and going through them. Will list them on Thursday I think.

Off to have a bath soon and aiming to be in bed by 10:30pm - we seem to be sitting up on the internet or watching TV until 1am and then neither of us can get up the next morning... if it wasn't for our daughter we'd probably be sleeping in every day!!

Ooh while I remember, does anyone know of anywhere that you can sell CD singles to? Music Magpie don't take singles and I have a box of CD singles that I wouldn't mind getting rid of!
