Problem with Hermes Delivery Services

Arcon5 next time I have an issue with a home delivery courier not being able to deliver because I'm at work I shall try this. However I'm obviously in the minority because the only home delivery courier that comes to me is for Next directory and they're quite happy to leave the item. 80% of what I order comes through DHL or royal mail.0

DHL are now owned by Yodel and also use these home delivery couriers so be aware next time you order something!“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Thanks Chameleon, so far so good. They just leave a card and I collect from the depot.0

That's ok if you happen to live near a depot but my nearest Yodel/HDNL one is approx 60miles away!!
Must say, I was incredibly impressed last week, having missed a delivery by literally minutes, when the driver returned later that evening to re-deliver!! Wouldn't get that sort of service from Hermes“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Hey guys, i was wondering if any of you can help me?
I ordered an item off one of Amazon's Marketplace Sellers. The item was supposed to be delieved between the 24th November - 28th November.
I've managed to track down the package from the couriers website (Hermes):-
24/11/2011 12:05 Signature From Neighbour
24/11/2011 09:20 Courier Received
24/11/2011 05:07 Out For Delivery To Courier
24/11/2011 01:36 Processed at Depot
23/11/2011 23:58 Receipt at Depot
23/11/2011 19:13 Hub Sorter Receipt Scan
20/11/2011 21:06 Order Generated
It states that a neighbour signed for it. But, my neighbours don't know of any parcel and there was no calling card. I even phoned Hermes itself but they said i have to contact the seller.
But I've sent the seller two emails but still no reply.
I'm just hoping i get the package in time for Christmas.
Any help would be appreciated guys, Thanks.0 -
If I remember correctly, Hermes should be able to tell the seller which address the parcel was delivered to. It is very bad form that your seller has ignored your requests. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0

hermes are liars
supposedly my parcel wasnt delivered yesterday as "there was a strike"
when i pushed him further he said that all roads were closed due to a strike
such liars
retailers need to realise that customers are not happy with this amateur service.0 -
I ordered a suit from BHS which according to Hermes tracking service was delivered at 7:30pm last night. I had intentionally stayed in all day and paid extra for it to be yesterday.
I appreciate 'mistakes' can be made, but how can a parcel be delivered to the porch of a house without a porch? And yes I know it doesnt neccessarily mean porch (because they have to tick an option when they deliver etc etc) but there is nowhere it could have been left other than on the floor outside. Furthermore, do you not ring/knock the door when you deliver things? No card left?
Now Im being told by Hermes to speak to BHS, who in turn are saying we'll have to take 1-3 days to establish whats happened. But you will probably get a refund.
What help is this to the wedding I have tonight? Minus my money, and suit?
Having spoke to BHS and Hermes, no one has a contact number or record for the driver who made the 'supposed' drop? What sort of courier service is this?? And why are the companies who use them, so quick to defend (by the looks of this thread) the enourmous amount of errors they make?0 -
I havent read through all the posts in this thread, but I though I would give my experience of Hermes delivery services. I recently purchased a coat online and when I got the confirmation through I saw that the delivery company was Hermes and I began to worry because I had seen this thread on the forum. Anyway my delivery came on time but the item was too large so I called to arrange a replacement and collection for the old one and as I was pushed for time I requested and paid for next day delivery, they said they would try and get the delivery driver to do the pickup as well but could not guarantee it. Anyway next day at 9 am my delivery arrived and the driver collected the item to be picked up.
So I guess it depends on the delivery person and a bit of luck.0
