So, New Look have told that they have booked the service that you paid for?

What makes you believe them? Which brings me to my original question: How do you know they actually booked that service?

I haven't got a reason not to believe them. I don't believe it is in any retailers best interests to lie about booking a delivery service and then hand out refunds everytime it goes wrong.

Based on my prior experience with Hermes I am more inclined to believe that that the courier that delivers to my area has either taken on more than she can manage or is incompetent.

The fact that it hasn't turned up may have given you something of a clue.

As I said I am basing my opinions on my previous experience with Hermes. I note you haven't commented on the fact the the Courier has previously left a delivery in my wheelie bin without leaving a card (said wheelie bin was subsequently emptied) and the fact that she has lied about leaving a delivery behind my gate...I suppose this was Next/La Redoutes fault as well.

Don't worry, Hermes can do no wrong in Flyboy's eyes! He'll find a reason to excuse their diabolical service no matter what you say ;)

Leaving the parcel in the bin was a silly mistake, but how do you know she was lying about leaving the parcel behind the gate?

And you will always blame everything, from the colour of the sky to the location of a rainbow, on Hermes.

I ordered a coat from La Redoute on 6th Oct. On 17 Oct it finally reached Hermes, so I thought ok, i should get it in a few days max. On 24th Oct I still didn’t have it so I rang La Redoute at 11am to chase it up. I was told that the courier said it had been left behind the side gate earlier that day. Odd seeing as I was at home, heard no knocks/doorbell ringing, and there was no card left, AND surprise surprise, nothing behind the gate!

I rang up to complain and I was told they would have to investigate and it would take 28 days before i would get a refund, but they kindly asked whether I would like a replacement coat (which I would have to pay for before i receive my refund for the missing one!) I politely declined(!!)

Anyway at about 7:30pm the same day I get a knock at the door...my coat mysteriously arrived! The funny thing is it wasn’t the normal Hermes lady, (the one that left my Next order in the bin - see my previous post) but a man who I’ve never seen before. I suspect she sent her old man to deliver it after she got busted for lying about delivering it in the first place!

After that, I decided to pay extra for next day delivery on anything i ordered over the internet as i believed this would be more reliable. Sighhhh how wrong I was. Placed an order with New Look on Wednesday and paid for next day delivery. Its Saturday and i still haven't got my order, so i just went online to track it. Imagine my dismay when I realised it was with Hermes :( New Look have not been particularly helpful (although i suspect this is because Hermes don't provide particularly useful tracking information) They just said it might come today or tomorrow. Great service.

    There you go.
  • The problem is when the customer expects a 5* service for a low cost.
I just want a reasonable service, for a reasonable price.
Unfortunately, the companies are always trying to save a penny and lose sight that they may not be providing the service that their customers want.
