Hello All, I know that it seems as if I had fallen off the face of the earth but I have managed to climb back on. I have been so so so busy at school but finally GCSE has been moderated and I am nearly set for my new year group, a 140 of the little mites. So, as of today I am back on the track and have hit it running. It hasn't been easy without all your support and my daily fix of this thread but something had to give because after all I couldn't give up sleep.
Today I have cancelled HD on sky saving £10 per month and called the gap insurance for BMW to cancel that which will save me £39 per month. I am going to do some listings on ebay tonight while OH is out as I hadn't listed for about four or five weeks. Plus I need to get rid of some stuff from my house as we are considering converting OH office into a two bedroomed detacted house with small garden so we need to make room. Hope all you and yours are well. ROTETotal debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

Hi ROTE, nice to see you back - good luck with the ebaying! I need to get on with some ebaying this evening, fun fun fun!!
Sounds like you had a good day shopping Dinah, i am very jealous!! Every spare penny is going towards the big move.
Well apart from the birthday presents i bought for OH today! Its his birthday next week, bought him a pair of jeans then a dvd that i know he wants - but have put the dvd into a hamper type thing with all his favourite snacks so we can have a movie night.Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
Shoes look gold but are actually deep brown leather - even scarily higher than they look in the pic though!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I do love the shoes, love all of it actually tbf! Evrything except the little bag was in the sale, I refused to pay more than £30 (except the shoes, £45!)Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

You've got some pretty bits Dinah, sounds like you and your mum had a lovely day! Love the green strapless dress. Hope your kitty is better soon too.
Flower - Good luck with selling all your bits! That's something that wouldn't have occured to me either, until I turned up ready to move in with a sofa and a kettle!
Tink - I'll keep my fingers crossed for your savings, but I'm sure you'll smash through it. Have you found any National Trust houses you want to go too?
I've had a spendy day too, got a Kate Moss dress in the sales and a slouchy top (which I'll be lounging chic-ly about in tomorrow!) 'only' spent £37 though so not a patch on Dinah! Massive lines for tickets at the cinema so we missed the first showing of My Sisters Keeper, ended up seeing Year One to fill in the gap before it came on. Have to say though, I prefered the movie ending to what I read of the book ending. Waiting for OH to get home from work so I have someone to bug. Looking forward to my lazy day tomorrow, face packs and back to back Atonement, Duchess and I Capture the Castle.
Have a nice weekend everyone, hoping the weather stays nice!0 -
Oooh book or film? I Capture the Castle has a 50% chance of being my fav book ever, probably more, but I think the film is really loose in comparison.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Flower - I really like the movie night hamper present idea! I may have to steal that one cuz my OH is really hard to buy for!
I love the clothes Dinah, I'm now kicking myself that I walked past Zara today and didn't go in. Probably for the best though!
Cinny - Was Year One good? Me and OH are considering seeing it (along with a billion other films..) but didn't wanna waste time/money if we can wait until it comes out on dvd!Total Debt (Dec 2015) £11,500 : Currently £7,675Lose 21lb : 0/21

I think i saw the idea on another thread somewhere around christmas time, just remembered it while i was buying the dvd. Got some bargains from tesco for the hamper though - BOGOF on cookies and wine gums in there (his favourite!). Just makes it seem like a bit more thought has been put into it and bit more exciting that just a dvd, so hopefully makes me look like the good girlfriend:D

It is a thoughtful present Flower! I know I'd really appreciate something like that. Plus, a few brownie points never hurt!
Ok people, I need some advice! I'm on a get fit mission. Horse-riding is my fave exercise of all but it's ridiculously expensive. I also like surfing but don't ever do that anymore cuz can't get down the coast. But anyway, the dilemma is... I love rollerblading and it just occured to me that I could buy some rollerskates and do that instead of jogging. Cuz I hate jogging and it hurts my knees. I have found some skates for £60 instead of £200 and am very tempted. So do I spend £60 so I have an exercise I enjoy, or save my money and put up with jogging?TIA!
