Thanks MissShoes, feel free to stick around
I have to say I had huge motivation to get there, and the fact that I did really paid off as now I have NIM with me everyday and we can plan a future without money worries hanging over us. First step I would say would be to face your debt and find out how much you have, as you can't tackle it until you can face it. Lots of luck, xxx

Hello everyone
Haven't posted for the last few dyas but am keeping an eye on the thread.
Finally got back to dooyoo last night and did a review but was really peeved to realise to know you now need 20000 to claim an Amazon voucher  It was only 10000 last time I went on! Oh, well better find some stuff to review.
Have also been throwing money at the Virgin CC and paid off £500 in the last month. I know I need to do any balance transfers by 5th August so I need to get the balance below £2800 so I can move my Northern Rock loan. Admittedly I bought 2 flight tickets the other day but it is OH's 50th birthday in February so we're going to Paphos for the week, with a view to going to Egypt for the day. I'm quite proud that I've got an apartment and the flights for £382.
If I get the loan moved then all I have to worry about is the CC and the car loan which finishes in December. I'm also going to change mobile contracts in October as the one I currently have is £40/month but I've seen loads for half that or even less with similar features. OH thinks I'm becoming obsessed with 'paying a bit off'.
We've started putting things in motion for the kitchen and it's going to cost more than anticipated mainly because the crap floor is collapsing so we have a big hole near the fridge. Think I'm going to walk in one day and just see my little Westie's head peering over the top!!!
I leave my current job in 10 days (finally) and as I've been there less than 2 years I'm claiming my pension contributions back, which will help with the extra cost. I know I should transfer it to another pension account but I'm already getting an NHS ill health pension each month (pensioned off at 32, don't you know!) which is index linked so it will give me a buffer and I can work out a savings plan when the debt is sorted.
Right, better go now and sorry for rambling on xxLet's start again (really need a kick up the bum now) :wall:Virgin CC £9793.710 -

You sound like you have got things sorted. Why were you pensioned off? Sorry you don't have to tell. i'm very nosey! I work for the NHS too, I think the only good thing about that is the pension!
Keep up the good work.
