Lol, we bought a shed to put stuff in, but generally its better to have the money than clutter!

Went to the wedding, was a bit odd to be honest, finished by 11pm and it was so loud in the room we were all outside! Also because it is so close to the longest day it seemed very daytime-ish and informal. However my mind is now made up - ING W fund money is staying where it is, I'm so happy she's happy, but I don't want a buffet served off a snooker table if I ever get to that point!

So, I just took £30 of MSs in York tomorrow (RE - only £5 fee each, but a £3 reimbursement too) for to try to recoup some of the spending money. I'm not sure if NIM will laugh, cry, or bang his head off the wall when he finds out! One is for baked goods though - yum!

NIM had to take me to the wedding, then go to poker, then come pick me up again, now he's gone back to poker. Apparently he won one hand though out of the two he played, so thats not so bad. He thinks he should make it home with a £10 left out of the £25 he went out with so I won't begrude him that. Because the wedding was in a cricket club drinks were cheap prices, so I only spent about £3.60 on my glass of wine and a southern comfort and coke - based on previous wedding prices I had factored for £20!

Think you are right to keep the wedding money saved up, you want things to be nice. I saw a wedding in the London Paper yesterday , they always have weddings on a Friday, and they did it all for £5000 by having loads of fmaily and friends help them out with certain bits. Looked really nice as well.

Flower - Me and OH had the same problem. I am quite lucky that I still have my room at home so have still got a lot of stuff there. My mum says when I get a house I can have it hehe. OH had loads of stuff, had to try and get him to part with lots of it, was mainly rubbish!

Pilchard - the holiday sounds good, bet you can't wait for that. Hope everything goes well with the kitchen too.

I am up nice and early, funny how when its a day off I am happy to get up! We are going to look at the flat at lunchtime. My mum is coming up this morning so hopefully she can come have a look too. Take That tonight, so excited!

You sound like you have got things sorted. Why were you pensioned off? Sorry you don't have to tell. i'm very nosey! I work for the NHS too, I think the only good thing about that is the pension!
    Keep up the good work.

    Hi there.

Got pensioned off because the gloves we used were powdered and I was allergic to them. I had really bad eczema then to - everywhere - so my skin was a mess. I was told by the hierarchy that they couldn't change the gloves or buy powder free just for me cos I was employed by the Trust and could be moved about (don't move me then would've been an idea ). The unions were also less than helpful so they decided to get rid. It has worked out well cos I then went on to get a degree, which I wouldn't have done and I've got lots of experience in different things but the downside is I seem to have lost my focus so keep changing jobs. It doesn't matter what I earn but if I go back into the NHS I lose all or part of then pension. While it's not a fortune it does provide a buffer each month on top of main wage.

To be honest my health has gone down the pan in the last few years anyway, so although I'm pretty well controlled on a day to day basis I wouldn't be fit enough to work in the NHS now anyway.

    Anyway, sorry for whittering on.
Have a good day everyone xx

I wish my bf would tidy my room for me!! thats the main job for today though lol :( hoping to have a mass culling of a whole load of stuff though to ebay/bin/charity shop piles!
For my £500 target, got paid yesterday from temping (again, the tax man took loads of my meagre pay but hey, I'm thinking about it as "I now have £100 in 'savings' and itll be nice to get back one day...." Still annoying though. but I moved another £200 from that and then I got paid from a presentation I wangled myself to give, so another £50 has gone, I got £10 interest on the savings account (but I know I would have got it anyway..) and then my granny has given me some holiday money (£100)! But I think it might be a bit cheating to count the interest and the holiday money.... what do you think anyone?
If I do count them both, I've smashed my target with £560, if I dont, Im just behind with a few days to go (and I might get paid from my trial day at my new job tomorrow..) with £450!!
rightios anyway, off to clean my room!!

Don't think so - I've just got home and he's had to take kitteh to the vet again - another bout of cystitis. Was a struggle, but I managed to spend all of the £200 - we had a nice lunch too and ice creams in Bettys. If anyone can point me in the direction of a photohosting site I'll even post up piccies of my lovely sale bargains. Was lovely to spend a day with mum too.

Glad you had a nice day Dinah, shame about the kitten though, poor thing. Hope he/she gets better soon.

http://photobucket.com/ You can upload your pics using that :)

Me and the OH also went shopping today and I didn't buy anything, even though I saw a dress I've wanted for months in the sale. It's from Allsaints and was reduced to £112 to £77 but I still couldn't bring myself to buy it. OH even offered to get it for me but I didn't want to waste his money. It's a new me! :p

Hope everyone is having a good weekend :j
