Gosh, I thought I had it bad having £15 to last me till Friday! I think it'll be the same next month too by the sounds of it; I've promised OH I'll buy him a British Lions rugby shirt to replace the England rugby shirt that has been ruined by tomato sauce and blood from the accident last week (been through the wash 4 times now and still stained!) and I really need some new summery trousers/shorts/skirts as all of mine are very old/falling apart/don't fit/too short! I also have to get some of this debt paid off!
I'm a bit in 2 minds with the CC debt; I've got about £1500-£2000 lurking in various accounts left over from what my Mum gave me when we were buying the house (lovely lovely lady that she is!) and OH is trying to get me to use it to pay off the CC and then put what we would have paid off the CC into savings... but it's just been moved onto a 0% card for a year and I'm not convinced that we'll actually keep up with the savings and he'll keep wanting to dip into them for things like holidays and whatnot when I want the savings there to pay off the builder in 5 years time. Argh, what to do?!?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I am always planning the weekend way in advance. I am going to Bournemouth uni summer ball, as my best mate is still there, just finished. I really need to find a costume, we are going as tube stations and I am going as Angel so need to dress as an Angel.
Cinny - sure you will manage all the savings, just keep going!0 -
I agree with your OH Birdie, pay it off, and set up a direct debit for payday into a savings account. You never know how circumstances can change, and having your money sat there growing and not having the black hole of debt lurking behind you is very reassuring.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Good morning everyone!
Yep I'd be inclined to say pay it off too Birdie but keep up the savings payments as Dinah says, just think of it as untouchable money, you'll feel so free and happy looking at + amounts in the bank rather than - ones.
Wendz I love the idea of dressing up as a tube station! Hmm, pondering what I would go as now... A Baker (Street) maybe?
Cinny I was laughing at your swooning episode! I actually fancy Hugh Grant more than Colin though I think, even though he's annoying. Looking forward to seeing your new long sig. I know what you mean about holiday saving - I've committed myself to 4 jollies this year so really need to start putting bits away for them.
Dinah your day out sounds lovely, everyone's putting me in the mood for stately homes and picnics. And brill news on finding MORE money, lucky duck, I'm sure you'll make the 13% and then some!
I'm very frustrated today, my outlook is on a go-slow and all I want to do is read about Paris or go and play in the sunshine! I've got so much I need to be doing at home, the last thing I need is to be stuck in here doing nothing :mad:Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Ooh, or James Bond (Street) or a Canary (Wharf)...Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0

Or a clown (Picadilly Circus!)... or Nelson (Trafalgar!)... am I grasping at straws here?!
Thanks for the advice, think I will pay off the CC with the money and then get some serious savings started!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I know a few girlies on here do some of the comps, has anyone ever won anything decent? I see all these people with huge long sigs of wins month by month, we must have entered a few thousand last month, and no wins at all!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Oooh, you could go as Elephant and Castle with a friend! I'm liking this dress up game, may have to steal that one!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

Dinah, I haven't won anything on the online comps, just 2 Mars footballs (and work has now blocked the website so that's the end of my daily click for that!) and 1 Galaxy book. I've entered loads and all I've got is an inbox full of spam! The only comps I've ever won have been from a raffle (holiday vouchers) and a sudoku comp in my work magazine (ipod touch). I live in hope though!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0

Ooh, 4 holidays! Where is it you're going Tete? (bar Paris of course, I know that one!) Figured out I need to save about 1k for the holidays this year, so I think I'll start my Florida Fund next year when me and OH are looking at a summer of camping to keep costs low.
Cripes, I owe my parents £470! £350 is for OHs laptop and they don't want that until November but I best start making headway on the other £120. I think that needs to go in my new sig later!
I won that fancy pants french spa stuff this month Dinah. The only other thing I have ever won won were some Seamonkeys when I was about 12. They were fantastic!0
