    Hi everyone

I've had a fab weekend but it was really busy. Went over to Tadcaster and walked our 2.5 dogs for an hour or so on Friday and had coffee with a friend over there. I want to live there eventually but can't do it at the moment. OH works there at the brewery so we spend a lot of time over that way. Yesterday we went to Whitby and walked the same 2.5 dogs on the beach (well the bit that wasn't under the high tide and allowed dogs on!) and my male Staffy got so excited he was like a big kid! Today we went to a retail outlet and then Brantano to get me some new work shoes as mine are past it and squeak but they wanted a fortune. I don't pay £50 for a pair of best shoes so I'm certainly not paying that for work. The people I work with will just have to put up with the squeak a while longer!!

Hope everyone's ok and Cinny, I'm with Tete - I volunteer to taste your cakes too. It's a dirty job but someone's got to do it!!! xx

Just realised I start my PAD challenge tomorrow
Let's start again (really need a kick up the bum now) :wall:

    Afternoon everyone,
Hope everyone has had a lovely weekend in the sun, we certainly have! And we spent hardly any money either - treated ourselfs to an icecream today though.
OH has been very good all weekend MS wise.
His family have gone home now and think he is feeling a little down as he really wants to get moved back there with them, just wish we could afford it because to be honest im starting to get really fed up here aswell!!

Before they left they did put the idea to us about moving in with them for a few months to save some money, then we could get our own place with the money saved. It is a really generous offer, but i dont know if i could go from having my own space, to only having a bedroom of my own and living with 4 other people. Obviously we would pay rent, but we could still potentially save about £500 a month!!
On the other hand i cant see us moving as soon as we hoped if we dont!

Sounds like a good weekend overall!

Forgot to say well done Dinah for the 7% mark!

Flower - would be worth having a good think about the offer as would be great to help you save up deposit. I know what you mean though about not wnating to share space especially when you have had your own, need to weigh up pros and cons.

I have written a dooyoo review this afternoon and have another one ready to post this evening.

Yes will definatly take a lot of thinking about. OHs face lit up when the suggestion was put forward. We would have our own room, but only a small double, just dont know if i could do it!!
Something OH and i will have to think about and have a talk about.
Cant really make any decisions yet as its only 2 weeks til we go on holiday for a fortnight. So maybe we will have come to a decision by then!

Yeah take some time. We lived with my OH's dad for a while before moving in together on our own. Unfortunately it was a long way from my work so although was cheaper rent etc was so expensive to get me to work plus took so long wasn't worth it.

I would seriously think about it Flower. I moved from a 3 bed 3 storey house into a 10ft square room at my parents with NIM and we've saved so much money, you could pay off your debts in no time, and NIM has found it a great way to get to know my family, we're now a very busy household of six and it actually works really well.

I know what you mean. We could have our debt paid off within a matter of months and then a deposit on a new flat to rent. It would be the answer to all our problems!!

Reckon you should go for it Flower, as long as you make clear it's for a short period, set a date for moving out and then stick with that. It could be a brilliant way to get back on your feet money-wise.

Also I love going home, as there are so many comforts. Kitchen roll And snack cupboards - nomnomnom. My neighbours are bbqing, the smell is driving me and OH mad with jealousy.

We went for a major 3 hour cycle and did my first MS. Woop! Still flunked quite badly in the £5 per day challenge - only £88 in total :( Still it's £88 more than I had previously.

    Hi everyone,

Nice one about the extra £500 Dinah, I love it when you have more money than you think, tho in my case it's usually only finding a crumpled fiver in amongst all the receipts in my purse!

I forgot to mention the goat in DMTH Cinny! What did you thin of him? He had a bit of a foul mouth I thought! Did you wear the dress to Sudbury Hall? Bet you looked a real lady!

Flower, sounds like a no-brainer to move in with the in-laws to me. I know what you mean about your own space, but I think if you set yourself certain targets like, 'we'll have our debt paid off by x date, and have saved for a deposit and advance rent, whatever, by xdate' and stick to your timetable at least you know it's not for an indefinite time and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. (ETA - great minds think alike Lara! And well done on the 3 hour cycling, my bum is cringing just thinking about it!)

Wendz the day on the farm sounds idyllic!! And Pilchard I love Whitby, bet it was packed in the sun. Good luck on the PAD challenge, you'll do great!

We have had a very relaxed weekend what with OH and his chest infection, succeeded in making a half-decent Victoria Sponge yesterday, then had a takeaway and vegged in front of the telly and today we went to get OH a new summery shirt then spent the afternoon baking enormous chocolate chip cookies which seem to be hollow for some reason, can't work it out. Really hope he's beter for Paree next weekend, and that I don't catch it as he's been doing things like sneezing on his hand then wiping his hand on me (boys!), but I feel ok thus far so I'm sure I'll be fine.

Right, going to do a bit of ironing and make my packed lunch for tomorrow. Four day week this week :) Have a good evening everyone, hope there aren't too many Sunday Night Blues floating about xx
