Ooh have DP got a sale on? Haha, stop encouraging me and giving me ideas Spendy Cinny!

How exciting about the camera though, I'm really upset that mine's broken and I'm going to have to take my old one away with me, it's got a bit of dust or something on the lens so the pictures all have a blob on them :( I wanted arty-farty shots of the Eiffel Tower dammit!

Where are you Lara?! Mine only has 26 and 21 of those are in Dublin or airports!

We were at 8.5% before Tete, so no its not quite up to where we were before paying off the debt. However, we might actually still be £500 higher, its a job for the weekend to work out where we actually are!

NIM got paid today, more than we were expecting, which means that he has £155 left in his account to cover spends and petrol for the next month, which should mean £100 spends or so for himand the rest on petrol. That meant £95 has gone over to the rent saver. Considering how tight we thought this month was going to be, it's actually going okay (except for the fact we made no holiday or present savings this month, and the car savings were £70 dipped! Oh and I have absolutely no spends money at all), once the money from NIMs prize bonds comes through, as well as the £210 from mum (£150 from brothers bike part and £60 to mean 2 months rent + the £60 = the £900 they bought the euros off us for) we should have £1331 to move over to the ISA rather than the £900 we should have had simply from the gift from NIMs dad. Very happy bunny.

Ofc with me having no spends money at all this month we might decide to take £100 out of that for my spends so we don't go into the OD and can still have a couple of days out.

I need to tidy my desk this weekend, need to find the form to get a new tax disk, NIMs electoral registration form, and also the clubcard plus application form. Mum says she tidied some of my papers into a reusable bag under my bookcase so will start the search there as forgot about it until right now!

Is it this weekend you go to Paris Tete? Very exciting!

Good luck viewing the wedding venue Lara and grats on the uni fees.

NIM was entering a competition last night and it required a wedding date to enter, he put down 24/06/2011 - which would be our third anniversary. Made me feel a bit warm and fuzzy inside that he thinks about these things.

Oh I love Margaret Atwood! £1 a book is a bargain. Favs are definitely a handmaids tale and then oryx and crake, but thats cos they seem to be in a much more sci fi vein than the others. I adore books that are set in a slightly different version of the world as we know it, if anyone knows of any good ones please let me know!

I heard on the news this morning 1 in 5 people are going for the scrappage scheme or something?

Find that figure hard to believe, I don't know anyone except on here who has gone for it! However its great news if it is true, as used car prices will be driven way down in two-three years due to oversupply, so I will be able to afford a nearly new, which is the way I prefer to buy!

Morning! And what a lovely morning it is! Last night was gorgeous too, we had a little BBQ and I even wore shorts! That's big stuff for me!
Well done on the savings going up Dinah and Lara! I'm hoping once I get paid (next week, it can't come quickly enough!) I'l be able to make some headway on my signature!
Tete, if I were you I'd just get a disposable camera to make sure I got some nice pictures, you can get the photo cd when you get it developed so you can play around with them on your pc when you get back to make them look more arty!
It is the last day at work for the lady who is taking early retirement so work is taking something of a back seat to silliness and cakes! We've got those party pea shooter things and war is a-raging! I could really go without the cake though, I'm getting so tubby!

I'm feeling very positive today too Flower, despite two people coming close to driving into the side of my car on the way to work this morning. Apparently junctions are a matter of opinion once the sun is out!

Know the feeling Birdie, really need to get back to the gym. Got in late today otherwise I could have gone for a dip on the way home. It's a toss up, decimate my flexi and go for a bit of a swim, or up my flexi so I come to the end of the month a bit in credit and miss the gym.... hmmm.

Wow, everyone sounds so positive and happy today and money seems to be going well for everyone :)

Dinah your money bamboozles me once again but if you're going to have £1k+ to put in the ISA, that'll boost your % loads.

I love The Edible Woman by Margaret, apparently the £1 book is a collection of short stories which I've not heard of, but worth a look for that price. We did Handmaid's Tale for A-level so dissected it to death unfortunately.

Was NIM entering a wedding comp? That'd be a brill prize!

Paris is next Saturday, but seems to be flying in now :):)

Morning all! I heard that too - I think it's 1 in 5 people who are buying new cars are doing scrappage scheme, which surprised me as that's a lot of people buying new cars!

That's very good savings news from Dinah, Cinny and Lara! I've just been accepted for a focus group next week which is £40 for an hour's chat :D I've been trying to find MS jobs, the ones on RE are nearly all sandwich shops in London.

Good luck with the wedding venue, Lara! That's so exciting!

I empathise about the gym guys, I have this feeling it's going to get worse and worse as the weather gets better - barbecue or few drinks in a beer garden beats an hour in the gym any day!

OH was moaning last night about how 2 people have left and they are not replacing them and she is busy at the moment and the work load is likely to be coming her way but no extra cash. As I said to her just do a good job and be thankful you have a job in the current climate.
