Definitely go to the waterlillies if the orangerie is open again, I can honestly say standing in front of one of the waterlillies paintings was one of the most moving experiences of my life. I actually cried which is a bit ridiculous, but its such a beautiful and powerful piece. And so much bigger than you think it would be.
Walk through the garden of the louvre, towards that big egyptian obelisk thing at the far end, down the central walkway. On the circle around the bottom pool is an ice-cream cart with absolutely amazing ice-creams and sorbet, and if you go back in 2 years the guy doing it will still recognise you and be able to tell you what you had last time!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Right, added a bit more money to the target and extended it to the end of July. Still don't think I'll make it. Specially with my wage packet coming down in a week or so
I'll give it a whirl over the next few weeks, see how it pans out!
Tete - Sounds like some fantastic places! Wish I could offer a few but last time I went to Paris we spent 3 hours walking around lost trying to find our hotel! Could you get to your Local Library and see if they have a copy of Secret Paris (I think I mention this all the time!) Some weirdly fantastic places in there.0 -
Oooooh go to the library! The library in Paris is on the bank of the seine and is the most incredable building.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Morning,
I am all excited today as OHs sister had her baby last night. Is her second little girl. She was 9lb 1 and is called Bayleigh (not overly keen on name). His youngest sister sent me a pic and she is soo sweet0 -

We did all the normal things in Paris when we went, seems so long ago!0

Congratulations to your OHs sister Wendz! Never heard the name Bayleigh before.. don't even know how to pronouce it!
I only have full Mondays because the girl I work in the office with is at College that day, summer holidays coming up so she's almost finished. I know a few people would see it as 'only' being £12, but it will be sorely missed!
If I really push myself, and only buy what I really need, I think I'll just scrape past it. Just a bit of a bottom this month though, OH is already down half his wages with the amount his mum charges him for board, so it's going to be a tight month for us both.0 -

That's what I want to do Wendz, first proper time there, want to take it easy a bit as well and get a feel for the place rather than racing from one tourist thing to another. It's a good thing it's June and will stay light late and almost everything seems to be open til about 10pm. Might have a look at fitting in Waterlillies then, and maybe the library if we pass it. Might pop down to Middlesbrough library now and see if they have Secret Paris - is it this one?: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Secret-Paris-Jonglez-Garance-Ratton/dp/2915807175/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1243592980&sr=1-1
(Bayleigh sounds a bit like bayleaf to meI'm sure she's lovely though, if a little bruiser at 9lb )

Why don't you try one of the up your income challenges Cinny? Or have you ever considered selling your cupcakes at the market or a fair? You could make a pretty penny. I saw one of those morning tv shows about people setting up to sell at farmers markets, she made over £800 in one day selling £2 jars of pickles!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
