    Good morning!

I'm now resisting the urge to look on the Book People site for lovely cheap books! My bank balance is looking very sorry for itself after I've taken out all the money I need to, and I only got paid yesterday!

Dinah your reference to 'events in Ireland' sounds intriguing but I don't blame you for not going into it at 12.30am, I was in bed by 11.30 and I'm wrecked today, might spend the day entering comps or something. Still early finish to go for tea and a film, sso roll on 4pm!

    How is everyone today?

    Evening everyone

Hope you're all ok? Cinny, how are you getting on with globaltestmarket? I used to do them and had a cheque once but then the website crashed and now I can't get back on. I keep emailing them for my password etc but never hear anything back. Shame really cos I actually stuck to that.

I've been doing a lot of surveys with TNS recently for the nectar points but now they've changed the system so you can get amazon vouchers and capital bonds too. Has anyone got Capital Bonds cos I'm thinking of redeeming for them instead of nectar points.

Anyway have a good eveing and Dinah and NIM, I'm glad you had a good time and hope NIM's first day went ok xx

NIMs first day went quite well, he'll post tonight to tell you all about it.

We do TNS surveys when they occassionally arrive, never cashed out with them though so no idea about the points system! What are capital bonds?

The book is £4.99 on the Book People Cinny, so it doesn't seem like too bad a splurge. If you paid more than this then let that be a lesson in the whole 'Do I need it? Do I love it? Can I get it cheaper somewhere else?' vein! I'm also tempted by the 'Cherry Cake and Ginger Beer' one, do you have it/have seen it in a shop and it had no pictures so was no use?!'

I'll give you an Ireland update later today Tete, it's taken me this long to stop twitching. Have a meeting shortly and will be on site a few hours.

Know what you mean about the bank balance. Mine has about £320 in it, of which about £210 will need to be held for petrol, £29 for phone bill, £22 for the two dental plans, £11 for prescription, £20 for online subs, £9 for a licence I had to get last night, £29 for an amazon payment that is coming out for some build your own books we got.... and thats me stood at -£10 for the month without any unbudgeted spending at all! Still, £10 isn't a lot to find from somewhere.

And we have a £40 MS meal, gonna have to get NIM to use his spending money for that one, since I paid for everything in Ireland which is how I'm so skint now!

    Morning all!
Golf yesterday was fun, it was like a big long lesson broken up by coffee and cake in the very posh clubhouse that was full of ladies of leisure covered in expensive jewellery! We felt a little out of place but had fun, although my bum hurts this morning!
Last night we had a bit of a disaster, I made tea (pasta in tomato sauce with lots of red wine in, typically) and OH was carrying his plate over to the sofa as the table was covered in drying blankets etc and it just broke in his hand and food went everywhere, all over the carpet, the coffee table, up the wall, on both sofas... and his foot got cut so there was loads of blood too! Needless to say most of last night was spent scrubbing the place clean and we now have a nice orangey tinged patch on the carpet! It could have been worse though, my super special glass that my Mum brought me back from Florida that has my name and a picture of Tinkerbell engraved on it (I know I'm a big kid!) was about 3inches away from the 'crash site' so it could have been broken too, that would have been the last straw!
Hope NIM's enjoying his new job!

Hmmm, twitching and a mystery licence, I'm intrigued!

Your bum hurts from golf Birdie?! Maybe it IS a sport after all! Nightmare about the 'crash' though, your poor OH is really in the wars at the min isn't he?!

Ooh, that's Harsh Dinah making an appearance!! I saw that too though, I just about managed to resist temptation, but I did buy 2 CDs with my Dooyoo Amazon voucher - feels very strange, haven't bought anything like that for ages!

Good news about the credit card, Cinny! Do you get lots of clubcard points when you use it too?

I had an interview for a cashier job at Morrisons yesterday and went in telling them that I'd be happy doing customer service as I love people and you didn't meet many people doing an office job blah blah blah... Then she said her first impression of me when I walked in was that I'd be better suited to Personnel or Cash Office and I'd be wasted on the tills so I had to backtrack a little bit! It was supposed to be a temp job and I thought being a cashier would be good as it was flexible and I could do lots of overtime etc but you never know! I don't even know whether they'll offer me anything yet!

Dinah, I'm currently doing some freelance editing and translating, but there's not too much about as companies are saving money by doing everything in house instead of outsourcing, so Morrison's would be good!

Glad you enjoyed the golf Birdie and sorry to hear about the chaos last night! It's a shame your OH's weird rugby face-thing wasn't in the vicinity, but hope his foot's okay. And the carpet... Is is time for a well-placed rug? :o

:rotfl:I hadn't though of that! Fingers crossed for the Morrison's job, especially if it's a non-shop-floor one! (Surely she must have had something in mind or she wouldn't have mentioned it?)

I'm intrigued by the twitching too!
I was assured yesterday by the lovely 'Lady Vice Captain' who seemed to latch onto my and my friend (think they're after some young blood!) that golf is a 'real' sport and it keeps you trim and supple, she had a lovely figure (for an...'older' lady) so maybe there's some truth in it? I don't know, but it was fun smacking the balls, really works out your frustrations!
OH really is a walking accident at the minute, and of course he couldn't cut the foot attached to his good leg, but the bad one! He was hobbling around this morning moaning that it hurts, bless him!
I have a feeling we'll be rug shopping this weekend, I fancied one anyway so this is a good excuse!

GTM is one of my favourite survey sites. Have had about 5 or 6 cheques from them over a couple of years. Just had my latest. Was good a while back as kept getting surveys where you just had to rate songs and were 75 points each, slowed down a little now
