Turned down for the Virgin card and too young for CapitalOne (shame, I could of got a card with a piggy on!) The egg card was looking promising but they wanted all my bank details before I'd even been accepted and I wasn't too comfortable with that.

Pilchard - Couldn't you join again under a different address? Not doing too well with it tonight though, all the surveys I had in my inbox were finished when I got there! Just looked up TNS, me and OH are going for the nectar points! If a referral would give you a few extra points I'll pm you my email address so you can.

Thanks for the luck Flower! Hows you ebay item going?

Two of the watchers have bid on it so far and its at £6, which is about what i was hoping to get so any extra bids will be a bonus.

Is anyone watching britains got talent, with that man that just played an imaginary trumpet or maybe trombone? How funny!

He was funny, but I think they should of kicked him off before the semi-finals! Trying to get into it, going to see the tour with my Mum because she wants to see Susan Boyle live. Saying that, I'm easily taken in by shows like this. Que girly squeels when I saw the Big Brother advert, I've stopped trying to make out I'm better than it, it's my summer fling!

Just got accepted by Tescos for a CC! Only a £400 limit but 12 months interest free so pretty chuffed, plus the card has strawberries on it! So me and OH can have a trip to the travel agents once it comes through, tell them what we've found and see if they can do us a better deal. Will be able to pay it off pretty quickly too.

I know what you mean cinny i cant believe he got this far in the competition!! And what is the flower arranging one all about?!
Also totally agree about BB, i always say im not going to watch it, im so much better than it etc... but nope i always end up watching it!

Great news about the credit card, at least you will be able to start building up your credit score, and its quite a low limit so even if you did max it out (which im not suggesting lol) then its not too much damage done.

Wow Cinny, good going on CC! AND strawberries - woo!

Lara you ARE very productive! do you make your own blinds and things?

Good luck with the ebay Flower, that's on my to do list for when I get back from hols.

I'm just watching Britain's Got Talent for the first time and realising why I never watch it! I think the blokes with the wheelbarrows are my favourite, the little fat kid dancing with his to off makes me feel a bit uncomfortable somehow! OK, only popped on to fiish a review off so best get on with it - where do the evenings go?!

I'm embracing it this year, microwaved popcorn and all! The singing flower people could of at least made flowers to look like the Queens face or something!

Tete, I quite like the chubby dancers, you just wanna give the kid a hug! (with a shirt on) Glad they got through though, get to see them blob about on stage now. Feel like I'm in the same league as you guys now I have a CC!:o Feel all grown up and special.

Right, best get off now! Go and tell OH the news.

Im feeling really depressed about finishing uni, because there are just no jobs in the area i want!! I know we're in the middle of a recession, but dont they know i need a job lol. Apparently this is one of the worst years to be finishing uni due to the state of the economy, great!
Anyway after alot of discussion with my mum and OH, i have decided that one OH and i get moved i will just try get some sort of admin job to get some money in, will just have to keep an eye out for other things then. Not really what i pictured myself doing when i finished uni but never mind!

At least you're doing something though, and any experience is better than sitting watching Oprah on your sofa. And there is nothing to stop you applying for dream jobs while being in the admin one.

    Planning Department at the Council
Next door but one to me has got a huge building digger thing in his garden so I called the council to see if he'd applied for anything and he's had a 2 storey extension approved. They must've put it in the local paper cos they didn't send letters and didn't put signs on lamp posts like they did last time when he was trying to build on a piece of land he didn't own. I don't mind the extension but he's one of those know alls who thinks he owns the street. When I first moved here and asked him to move his car so I could get mine out of the garage he told me 'people round here don't put their cars in the garage, they use the garages to store things'. I told him that I used my garage to store things too.....like my car! The whole thing is going to be a pain.

Legally they don't have to send letters to anyone who does not abut part of his boundary, if you get on well with next door you could ask if they got one. A site notice is only required if it is in a conservation area, a listed building, or not all of the neighbours are known ie parkland, open space on one side etc. But that aside, I'm sorry he's going to be a pain, an its none of his business what you use your garage for!

As for the ugg boots, I so want a pair! Im sure the money can be pulled from somewhere... just give me time to think!

Was a bit bad today, bought the Hummingbird Bakery book, just made some white chocolate brownies though and they smell loverly! And a bright yellow potted Gerbera (called Gerbie) too, so spent quite a bit.

Is that book good? Saw it on the BookPeople and was very tempted. Afraid I can't stand Ugg boots though, would rather have the confidence (and height) boost of my Kurt Geigers rather than the comfort of outdoor slippers!

I've also just had the fee confirmed for the freelance work I've been doing - about E1400 - so I'm feeling all positive. It's amazing how much 'adverse' situations change your way of thinking, before christmas that would have been about a month's salary, but now I'm thinking 'that could last me 3 months!'.

What do you do freelance poddle?

    Morning All

Don't worry not been on nights tonight. Wish I had as I have been up since 3am. Went to bed at 11ish with OH.

At least the washing from yesterday is out for the morning sunshine.

In money news, the C1 card balance transfer to the Barclaycard has gone through (as expected), but it has cleared the card without any trailing interest on the C1 statemnt. Job for later today is to call C1 and get them to close the account.

The credit card plan is paying off.

New Car is still due around the 1st week of June. Spoke to the dealership yesterday and they will require OH to sign the V5 document so we can sort out the insurance.

Speaking of car insurance I was having a look as ours is due in July. Noticed that I had been making a mistake with the length of time OH had her license. She was on a provisional for 2 years (confidence problem with the test). I had been putting through that she had her license for less than a year which is true for her Full license. Only found out when tried a quote no Norwich Union website and I used their live person chat and they explained it. So with the new information means that with our new car I am estimating our insurance to be about £100->£150 cheaper for next year.

    Anybody use Tesco Car Insurance?

    Things to do:
[strike]My MP3 player is due today so going to be busy putting music on that[/strike] - bit slow at loading it but done ready for new car.
[strike]Go to post office and send book which was sold on EBay [/strike]
[Strike]Check Rymans for jiffy bag for package to parents [/Strike] - There wasn't anything useful so will be post office again
    Get to the Gym!
[STRIKE]Close C1 Card[/STRIKE] - Done - Don't you love call centres that are open 24x7 and can speak english

Didn't know that about the car insurance. Interesting. Seems illogical though!

And it doesn't suprise me gym is the one thing not crossed off - my list would be exactly the same!

Sounds like everyones had lovely weekends!! Just got back from OHs house, we've seen 4 movies this weekend with his house being so close to cineworld, offically movied out. Been hitting all the travel agents places this weekend and we've decided to go to Disneyland Paris in December, found a 3 day coach dealio for £250 over our 2 year ann. mark so it fits nicely.

Sounds like a great deal Cinny, I always imagined you'd been with your Rich a lot longer than 2 years tbh!

End of mini mega post. Too tired and filling in on all the events of Ireland is too much for me to handle. nn x

    Morning everyone

Just a quick one before work. Thanks for that Cinny. I'm not sure if there's a referral bonus so I'll look tonight and let you know. It's worth doing TNS, though cos I've done surveys where you keep a diary of the toilettry (sp) products you use for the week and you can end up with about 960 points and after the first day you're just copying the names of the brands so it's quick to do.

Anyway, I'll post in tonight so have a good day everyone xx
Let's start again (really need a kick up the bum now) :wall:

The book is great! If you're tempted you should treat yourself, don't really want to look at the price of it on bookpeople after paying full whack in Waterstones :o
I've known OH since I was 13, dating on and off, so it seems a lot longer than 2 years to me too! Cant seem to get rid of the old lump.

Pilchard - Do you get many surveys from them, or is it the once in a blue kind of site? Still, sounds pretty good!

Off to the library this morning, going to see if they have a few books I want so I don't have to buy them! I'm managing to put the target amount into my savings each week, but I'm still feeling skint by the end of it so I need to get a bit more MSE again in my ways!

Have a nice morning everyone, I'll try and log on at work, trying to limit my MSE-useage.
