Well bit of money news for the day. Very shortly you will see NIM and I absoluely blast through the £20 a day challenge for May. The reason for this is NIMs dad very generously gave him e1000 to go into the savings, which my parents have agreed to buy off us for £900.0

Ooh, that would be great if you don't mind! Still trying to figure it all out, going to the library tomorrow morning to get some travel guides. (I know it's years off but I want to get my head around things!)
I'd love to go to the V&A museum, hope you have fun looking at all the pretty clothes when you go! Will have to look up those books too, sound interesting!
I've looked on ebay for the dress and they don't have it! I don't know if I should get it or not now, maybe just treat me and OH to a meal out or something? £90 is a helluvalot for a dress, and think aboutit, it's about 40% of the money for Disneyland in December.0 -
Having all the family together in a villa sounds fab Cinny hope your plan succeeds.
I've just been out for lunch and impulse-bought a dress. Oops. Only £10 in the sale though and I instantly loved it when I tried it on. No more new clothes for holidays! (Except perhaps some sandals)Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
That is really nice of NIMs dad to give you that money Dinah.
Cinny- Florida sounds like a great idea. We went as a family when I was 8 and when I was 11 and it was so fun, so much to do there0 -
Sounds like you got a great bargain with the dress Tete! You're going on holiday, you're allowed to get at least one new dress. (and perhaps some sandals) Completely guilt free! Or, at least that's how my nogging works.
Found some stunning Villas, all coming up for roughly £600 for the week, my Brother doesn't seem too keen on the idea of going but I've still got my sister to work on tonight when she gets back from Brighton. I offer her America, Disneyland and a *chance* she could get a flight to New York. How could she say no?!
Credit card hunting tonight! I think if I could get one with a long enough interest free period I'll be able to book the Disneyland Paris holiday, pay it off in a few chunks, and build up my credit rating at the same time. Then hide the card underneath a very angry rabbit so I don't use it again.
Have a nice afternoon everyone! I'm off to do the post. *yay*0 -
Be VERY careful with the credit card Cinny, that kind of thinking is exactly how I started. Only it kept being 'oh well, one more dress doesn't matter, or some books' and then look where it got me!
Really excited to find out how NIMs first day at the new job went. And to see him in his snazzy suit again - he's yummy all suited and booted.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Ooh, I didn't know it was his first day! Hope it's all gone well for him.
I'll be almost angelic with it knowing I have you guys to face! It'll be paid off within a few months and then put into hiding until we go, then used as an emergency card (emergency food that is, not emergency Mickey Mouse ears.)
ETA - Wahey to the last exam Flower! I can see why it'll be scary though. Any plans tonight to celebrate?0 -
Yey Flower! Welcome to the real world of Life After Uni - it sucks - sign up for a post grad course while you still can!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Feel pretty boring really. Quite a few of my friends still have exams within the next few days so everyone is planning on waiting til the weekend to celebrate. OH was going to take me out for a meal, but hes been asked to work. So looks like a boring night for me tonight! Not quite how i imagined the night of my last exam!!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0
