Incidentally I have found a couple of dressmaking courses on an evening in the area, 31 weeks Monday evenings. Something I have always wanted to do, so I am very, very tempted. £189 isn't all that bad, thats £6 a class for 3 hours tuition and a certificate at the end of it, and I could be seriously OS and make my own clothes and be fabulous!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

When NIM said it was rude she said 'you told me I could say anything in front of Dinah I would say to just you'.
:eek:So she thought she would take that quite literally.
Ooh the dress making course sounds good. Very reasonable aswell! Do you think you will go for it?Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
I don't know, I'm actually kind of terriffied of new situations which I don't have control over. I'd like to do it, but I'm not sure I have the guts.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Still lurking here and don't know you well at all Dinah, but you and NIM seem like a lovely couple and your MiL just seems plain jealous that another female has her son's affections! Don't let it bother you as he sounds as if he loves you (if he didn't and ran home to Ireland then he's not worth bothering about) BUT he does and that is the main thing!
As for your teeth, I seen the meet pic and there is nothing wrong with them, my niece just got her nose done cos she thought it was too big, even tho we all said it was fine, but it was her decision and at the end of the day, if you are happy then who gives a rat's !!!!! what anyone else thinks! Sorry had to vent there, rant over!0 -
I don't know how you manage to be in the same room as her Dinah! At least you can be happy in the knowledge she lives far faaar away, so you don't have to have regular weekend visits to see her. I can't believe she spoke to you like that though, you did well not biting back!I could be seriously OS and make my own clothes and be fabulous!
Ooh, you should go for it! It'll be a skill for life so worth every penny in the long run. Plus there's nothing nicer than people asking where you got something and being able to go 'Oh.. This? I made it myself *fa fa fa*'
The library didn't have any of the travel books I was after so I had a sneaky 5 minutes in WHsmiths travel section. Got my passport forms almost sorted, have to corner someone in the office this afternoon to countersign it or whatever it's called. Can get it sent off tomorrow afternoon hopefully.0 -
Spoke to NIM on his lunchbreak, he thinks I should go for the dressmaking course too. My nana used to knit and sew and make jam and everything, devoted herself to looking after her family and all her kids loved her to bits, shes kind of my role model, and NIM said he though she'd be proud of me for doing the course when so many people just do disposable convenience nowadays.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Just saw a nice quote: Money can be made again and again, time - once it is spent, is gone forever. Will have to work that into the conversation with MiL next time, along with 'I have no desire to be the richest stiff in the graveyyard thanks!'Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I definatly agree with NIM that you should do the course. Of course you would have to show us what you have been making!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0 -
