Don't forget items like cam belts are entirely dependant upon milage as well as what level the particular garage sets it at. I'm a very high milage user, and mine needed doing when the car was only 2 1/2 years old, however it cost me £82 (think £250 garage is having a laugh, mine was a genuine alfa part!) plus £20 labour and the next one will cost me less as I will get a patent part. My services also cost me less than those mentioned too as I don't go to the alfa garage but my own mechanic who does it for £55. To keep up the warranty you have to go to the branded garage which obviously costs a lot more than the garage where you might usually take it. I've had a new car before, and I wouldn't do it again lightly as I found it an appaulingly expensive experience (plus the car had to go back to the garage 14 times in 11 months - joy of joys!). I think unless your MOT is coming back with some major issues (my dads came back today with £900 of issues!) and you're saving for a house you're better waiting until you have your bricks and mortar before getting a shiny new car. Ofc if it turns out your car is on its last legs, that'd change the situation a fair bit!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Tete - If you're going to loan yourself the money for it, why don't you just go after a second hand fiat 500? Oooh, or one of the old 500s. How sweet are they?! Or if you think Old bluey could last another year the second hand one will come down even more in price.
Happy - I've had a cracking headache all day, I think it's on its way out now though. Hope yours isn't too bad!
Been looking at holidays again this afternoon  I was thinking, for what it's going to cost for a week in York in September we could just get a late deal and go somewhere with sunshine.
Have a nice night everyone! Off to my Nans, they've got some form of young relation staying, they're about 11 and just stare at me and my brother. It's quite Children of the Corn over there atm.0 -
I wouldn't mind £50 pocket money, all mine goes to save up for the house. Daft thing is, she was earning more than NIMs dad when they met, so I don't get why our situation is so much different except she can't stand to think shes getting on a bit.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
