Do your lads do scouts/cubs? Chav-breeders never send their kids to scouts/cubs so you may well have more in common with the parents there. Very cheap couple of hours of childcare, they'll take them away for the odd weekend even weeks holiday... they'll get to try out new stuff and meet a few male role models. Plus you could volunteer to help - and venture out a bit with the kids as protection. Or since you spend so much time doing fitness - kids sport group? Again self-selecting with regard to the type of parents involved.

With regards to scouts this is very true. Karate lessons theres all sort, scouts there isnt, and i live in a crappy area too :(

Taye good for you for having standards. Bad areas unfortunately tend to breed poor standards - that's a fact of life. And no it doesn't make you a snob, it makes you a person that just wants better for their kids. :T

I think Dave will be at gym today and he will talk to you. He has spent the last day or so mulling over in his head whether he wants your relationship to carry on or just call it quits. I hope he has decided the former and that he can have a frank discussion with you. Hopefully you can both listen to each others needs and find a way forward.

    Good luck.

    Not far off actually :T

Arrived at the gym and Dave was there milling about waiting for me, i have no clue why the dumbass didn't just text me to ask when i was going .

Anyway he had a small bunch of flower and a big smile, and like a total numpty i just burst into tears, he made me read the card didn't say much just "I'm sorry i didn't mean to hurt you, can i have my training partner back?"

I have to admit i sort of read it the wrong way i thought it ment that he wanted to be "just" training buddy's like we used to be, but i said yes anyway told him it was no big deal even though i was gutted. :o

It wasn't till he grabbed my hand and suggested we skipped the gym that i realised that maybe he was still interested. We went out and had lunch nothing fancy, but we had abit of a chat... long long chat really short.....

Basically he said he was sorry for scaring me off, he felt stupid as soon as i left he knew he'd pushed things abit far and abit fast especially because i'd been really clear that i wasn't ready for anything hot and heavy.

He joked about his "male-ness" getting the better of him and even though he found me very attractive it was no excuse for him to act like a jerk and try and push things. If i gave him another chance he promised to take 100 cold shower's a day till i was ready to take the next step.

erm what else ... oh he made it really clear that he's not after a fling, he's looking for a relationship and that he understood childcare was a problem but if i was willing to give him a go he'd help me sort it, so we could spend sometime together. All i had to do was promise not to hide behind the kids or freak out everytime he touched me because from now on he promised there would be no hidden motives and things wouldn't move any faster than i wanted them too.

Erm.. i think thats a pretty good summery?! ish ...

    Wow Taye:j:j:j
After this .... he most definately has his shine back as far as i'm concerned!

It is NOW a serious fairytale!!!!

Oh and Lunar Eclipse I stand corrected! :o

    "Oh! :o

    But no!

I really don't think sex was on his agenda that night. Seriously. Otherwise he's a bloody idiot! His actions up until this point are far from idiotic, so I'm still in favour.

Having said that, I have been known to be wrong in the past.

    And right.

But far more often right than wrong, especially where men are concerned! :rotfl:"

Don't worry Taye I'm not. But I am a man and was guessing correctly how he felt. I am so pleased for you both (all 4). So do I now need to buy a hat too? :rotfl:

Hi Taye, you don't know me, I am a lurker on the OS board usually but I found this thread yesterday and have been following with interest - my work colleagues must think I have gone mental! I have laughed, cried a bit, and cheered throughout the whole thread!
I am so happy things are working out for you and as a single mother of 3 myself who doesn't "do" relationships, its made me look at things a little differently!
Hurray for you, you are so brave and you deserve to be happy :)

Taye, you have definitely found a good 'un. Don't let your pride get in the way of letting him help you with childcare costs. He's already worked out you're not after his money.

WooHoo I was having a bit of a down day but now I feel :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
