Just ordered one on-line. We popped into our local Currys to check it out. On offer at the same price there but without the discount code and they charge £49.99 for delivery. So an on-line saving of £99.99 against the shop.By ordering the fridge thermometer for £3.99 I made sure my order was above £600 to qualify for £50 discount. I was able to specify delivery time without extra charge for the fridge but they wanted to charge me £14 if I tried to do this for the thermometer. I got round this by opting for standard 5 day delivery on the thermometer (presumably it'll fit through the letterbox)0

I reakon you can get 5% off if you've got an egg card and use the right link on the egg card site. I think this brings the price down to nearer £522.0

I had it down to £530, after factoring in quidco's 2% and Amex's 2% cashback. Came close to ordering, but then took stock and thought I'd make do with the fridge freezer I've got, it's a year or two in it yet - I like the look of that chilled water dispenser though... I may buckle yet.::Quidco.com - £1100 in 11 months. Kerr-ching! ::0

You mean you haven't noticed how much your electricity bill has gone up? :rolleyes:Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
PompeySteve - Thanks for the link you provided for the filters. Been hanging back for quite some time (even though the filter warning has turned red)!!

Filter warning lights? Ha! They're just a revenue generator. Replace the filter when the water doesn't taste good. After all, that's what the filter is for.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

Actually no gromituk I haven't because I was able to get rid of an old chest freezer that I kept in the garage. This was usually only a quarter to a half full as it was a real pain to find things in it. I would imagine that because I ran this inefficiently, it cost a significant amount to run.
I confess that I haven't really looked at the diffence in running costs between the Samsung and a standard size fridge freezer but does have an A efficiency rating.
Stop being a bah humbug and let us enjoy our little bit of luxury!0 -
Not bah humbug - just pointing out something which never occurs to a lot of people - the consequences of their actions when buying the latest fancy piece of consumerism. A-rated is only in proportion to the volume - a large A-rated fridge will use more energy than a small one, and chilling water/making ice adds to this energy use. So, as I said, there is more than one down side.
In your case, getting rid of the chest freezer might well be positive overall. In many people's cases they'll just get one of these things because it's there. And if people drink the chilled water rather than buying bottled water then that is good as well. Bottled water is seriously depressing when it comes to thinking about the environment.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
Ok points dually noted especially the one about bottled water. I was guilty of this before even though we live in an area with pretty good tasting tap water.
Now let me enjoy my iced drink!0 -
RTi wrote:its a brill fridge.. you will be pleased with it, and as another posted said.. be prepared for a battle with the delivery guys.. i measured my entrace ways..and knew the fridge would fit.. (just about) when the delivery guys turned up they said point blank that it wont fit and didnt even bother trying.. i spent 5 mins trying to convince them it will fit.. but they werent having it..(pure laziness) so they took the fridge back and cancelled my order. I then re-measured everything and was 100% sure it would fit.. so i ordered another one.. this time it was a different delivery team.. and they got it in no problems.. was really pleased with them! it did take me over a month to get my refund for the 1st fridge back though..
so as another posted said.. double check it will fit through your door frames..and be prepared for a battle with the delivery guys..
good luck!
I will second that, we ordered the lg fridge/freezer same style for £599 free delivery too and they brought the fridge up to the door and counted the steps and then said it wont fit but if YOU take the doors off it will but we wont/cant take them off and wont wait for you to take them off so either refuse delivery or we will leave it here:mad: we called father in law and he helped us get it in without the doors coming off.
We love the new fridge, not sure if this one has it but our lg has the option of crushed ice which is excellent in my baileys and everything else as sometime cubes are just too big:p recomend this style to anyone its well worth it.The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0
