Free BT installation deal discussion

Hi,
I'm looking to take up this offer and just had a quick question.
I'm hopefully getting the keys within the next week/week and a half. Currently there is a virgin line there, so I'll need to take up this offer to get the free installation.
I'm also planning to take up the O2 offer of the first three months free for broadband (currently meant to end at the end of november and has already been extended), so I'm in a bit of a rush :-) I'll need the line installed before I can order the broadband.
So my question was how quickly can you normally get an engineer out around this time of year?
Thanks,
Graham.0 -

thanks for all the info i found on this sie ive just saved myself some money :T0 -
I confirm this deal is still running. I applied an additional phone line at my flat two weeks ago. Thanks BT company representive in this thread to help me getting the deal. Just receive a letter from BT yesterday stated I am getting the £122.50 connection charge waived. Also check the BT bill from my BT online account and it shows £122.50 has been credited!0

Firstly thanks to those on this thread for bringing this offer to those in need. However.....getting the call centre staff to agree the offer is still running was the easy bit for me!
BT really are a disgrace, a terribly imcompetant organisation. Whoever i speak to (and i have spoken to 6 different people now) i seem to get no where closer to actually having a working phone line! I am so angry with this all!
Basically, i put in an order and arranged for installation date two weeks later on 10th November, for which i was asked to be in my property (1 of 5 new builds, the other 4 having no issue with getting a line). The day came, and i waited. And waited. After allowed a couple of hours post appointment time, i called BT who told me it had been rearragned that day for 12th November. No one had told me. I complained, and was told i would be called back. Was I? Of course not.
12th came, i called. "we'll call you when we finish the work" was the message. Was I? Of course not.
I called this morning, and was told "the work was done yesterday, your phone line has passed all the tests and is working". Brilliant i thought. Bit annoyed i wasted a days holiday for no reason, but i just want a phone line so would just get over it. I got home tonight to use my new line, and you've guessed it, surprise surprise it doesn't work.
BT Representative, please help me - i am getting so frustrated with being told rubbish by the call centre.0 -

Just to confirm that offer has indeed been extended until the 31/12/09. To qualify you must have both your line and calls through BT and make 10 chargeable or inclusive calls calls per month (30 per quarter) with BT or you will be charged a £6.80 per month/£20.40 per quarter on your bill. This charge will appear in the ‘One off charges’ section of your bill.
Drop me a PM if you need any help or wish to place an order.
Thanks
Shane.
