phew!
Managed to get downgraded to the weekend unlimited plan for free, thanks to the BT company representative:T. As sunnyd mentions there's been some confusion surrounding this offer as the unlim evening and weekend plan is free online for old & new customers but apparently not free for those taking a new phone line. This is a bit strange since the wekeend plan is free for everyone. So make sure you know what you're getting and don't forget to about the 10 mandatory calls a month.
If you take the Free Connection deal you will automatically get free weekend calls with BT's basic 'Unlimited Weekend Plan', unless you elect for a chargeable plan with more inclusive minutes.
Once you have made ten 01/02/03/0845/0870 calls a month preferably at the weekend, when their inclusive.Use someone like www.18185.co.uk
for cheaper calls.0 -
i have posted this elsewhere but think maybe this is a better thread for it. Is the offer for free reconnection still on? if so where is the link to it im a little confused

So, once and for all, is this offer simply for reconnection to an existing installed BT box in your home or does it encompass a complete new line where no current BT line whatsoever exists to a property?0

Well my daughter rang yesterday to get the phone connected on the free deal. Was told by the rep as she has asked for the free connection she would get it. The existing line was with a cable firm so BT are having to put in a new line, so looks like it means both. She is on the evening wk end calls deal @ £12.50, which when she gets her BB will go down to £11.25 for paperless billing. Glad MSE exaggerated the fact you have to ask for the free connection deal as she wouldnt have got it.0 -

Ive got the installation/connection booked for next Friday and my new BT number.
I had to come on here to tell of my experiences with BT.. So annoyed at the moment.
Quick run down from the above post...
Order placed on the 18th July 2009 told connection date was 24th July 2009 between 1 - 6pm (Great)
received a call telling me of and error and my connection date was now Sat 25th July 2009 between 1 - 6pm (ok)
stayed in all day waiting for the guy to show but never did.
Sunday 26th July 08.15 received a txt saying my connection was now Tuesday 28th July 1 -6pm (No apology and very annoyed)
Telephoned them and threatened to cancel and go back with V/M but said i will call back later.
Monday 27th July received a letter in the post telling me the date for connection was Tuesday 28th between 8am - 1pm no problem as i had taken the day off work anyway.
All day waiting yesterday and no show again... More holidays waisted by BT..
Just phoned and the guy i spoken to on Sunday 26th July had cancelled my order but didn't send my £25 credit back into my bank account now i have to go through the whole process again i was told if i wanted to connect to BT.
What a bloody nightmare this has been, they need to have English speaking people in the call centres for a start, so annoyed at the moment.0 -
Hi curley1959,
If you want, PM me your details and I'll see what we can do to get your line connected.

I've just seen this offer as I'm a first time house buyer and beginning to look for Phone/TV/Net deals from September onwards. I have a few questions for anyone who can help!
If I go for this deal (the £11.25 for 18 months) I presume I can still get SKY Talk etc, which is free, as it reduces the broadband cost. Also I guess I pay the £11.25 to BT rather than the £10 to SKY as I have a contract?0 -

No getting sky talk means you wont be able to make the min calls with BT to have the free connection offer.0
