The Perfume Emporium have stolen my money

If you ordered from Amazon it's probably the US based perfumeemporium.com and not the co.uk one. They are completely different companies and the US one seems fine, so you'll probably be ok.0

Oh no! I wish I had seen this earlier. I ordered some perfume over a week ago and have not even received an email to say it's been posted and have had no reply to emails sent. Have today sent an email saying that I am cancelling my order and expect a full refund within 30 days. Am very angry. Should have paid on a credit card, not debit, have learnt my lesson! Thought it was too good to be true - the perfume is impossible to get hold of in this country!0

I had ordered some goods from the Perfume Emporium and had not received them and I panicked when I saw all the posts on this forum, and decided to cancel my order, but I must be one of the lucky ones as my goods arrived 14 days after placing my order!!0

Like most other people I have had the same experience. After months of emails and promises "Chris" has the nerve to reply to yet another of my email saying my refund will be with me in 89 days! Yeah right! Chris I am not giving up until I get that money back. What are Watchdog saying about it? - and trading standards? - and United Hosting? - they should be able to put a stop to him. Do not buy anything on this site!0

I had the same problem as everyone else but following advice on this forum (re cancelling immediately and demanding a refund) I have managed to get my money back including the postage. I can only add to the advice on this forum that you must be firm with "Chris" and write formal, almost legal emails. I used to be a lawyer and took that tone with him and whilst he hung on to the money until the last day of the 30 day period, he did eventually refund it. Good luck.0

I am having the same problem with the Perfume Emporium. Order, pay . . . and then nothing. Contact produces seemingly polite replies from "Chris" but Royal Mail are claimed by him to be the culprits. Judging by this form, this is a remarkably consistent response.0

I've had the same issues with this guy, same responces back and forth since early Dec 09 etc etc...
2 days ago I threatened "Chris" with legal action and today received his responce:
Hello,
Please accept my apologies for the delay. The refund has now been processed and should be credited back within 2-5 working days.

I too fell for the perfume emporium scam - I usually buy my perfume from Fragrance X in the US, who have been very good, but stupidly last year decided to try a UK supplier, The Perfume Emporium. Well, you all know the rest - the emails about the post losing stuff and how Christopher Collins can't pay my money back etc etc. My own fault, I should have checked out his website more carefully and noted the lack of contact phone number. I should also have searched more diligently on the web for feedback on him. Put it down to the light of experience.
However, I've reported the guy to Consumer Direct and asked that they get Trading Standards in Nottingham to deal with him, but I guess nothing has happened because this was in September. So much for consumer rights - we can no longer contacts TSO's direct like we used to.0 -

All I can say is keep digging him, my threat with the fraud office seemed to have done the trick.
Good luck to all.0 -
