As you can see from this thread, you're in good company as regards your recent experience with Empire. I think most people just want to forget about the whole facade and move on. There'll be other bargains along soon, and not everyone's as bad as Empire. :wall:

The price of digital cameras is falling almost as fast as MP3 players so I'd guess £20 will soon be the norm for a 3MP camera (and keep your eyes peeled in the vouchers board for further discounts).;)

I emailed them first thing this morning asking if I could send it back and have it replaced by any 3.1MP one no reply yet though

Upon receiving the 2 MP camera instead of the 3.1, and having my credit card charged £19.99 I emailed Customer Service and this is the reply I have just received:-

"Please read the disclaimer at the bottom of this e-mail

Dear Mrs
Thank you for your email.
A genuine mistake was made when promoting the Camera for which we apologise.
As we are now aware of the error, all customer are been notified when they
place ther order.
We can confirm as soon as the returned parcel is received, your credit/debit
card will be refunded.
Please accept our apologies for any upset or inconvenience caused.

They don't mention that it can take up to 10 days to have the credit back onto my card!

Check your credit card in a few days and do not believe Empire.
Their system is horrible and if you pay by credit card (without registering) it seems your details are lost forever, but they finally go through. unless they have a way to deal with these cameras now, they will ship you something.

I doubt they will send you anything if this is not stated in the delivery form.
I think somebody with a minimum of brain has stepped in at Empire Stores and understood they sending low-quality 2MP was not acceptable. So they are just deleting the orders with the 3 MP camera.
That is at least more acceptable in my opinion that pretending the 3.1 MP camera was just a dream of some web surfers....

As for your son: clearly also the 2MP camera would make happy a 7 years old and to be honest is extremly simple to use, so he will get on with it easily. What I would suggest is that you ring Empire and tell them that you would also accept the 2MP camera instead of the 3MP you ordered. They must have still on stock and surely they will have received lots back!

I liked the wording 'should' be delivered shortly. Maybe they're not all that confident about their courier.

And received an email at 4 am this morning ! letting me know the following are ready to be despatched shortly

It looks like I am getting 2 of the SW6826 code which is the 3MP camera.
It states this quite clearly in the emails and I have had no other notification from them regarding any errors or stock problems.
So maybe I have slipped under the radar.... :j

I have also had an email from Empire today to say that the Digital Camera is on its way(possibly after 5 days ,after clearing the bank!!!!!!!!!!!! what a load of codswallop) ,and that my payment was made today into my account that I started last year. BUT i also have the code as described before
