However, as you can see above, no name, no account number given and no date given for delivery. As yet, I still am waiting to receive this, but I'm not holding my breath!! If I do get it, and its the 2mp, then Im in a dilema whether to send it back, or keep it for my sons 7th birthday, he will love it. Has anybody received theirs yet who ordered on 15th?? If I dont receive it,. then its probably a blessing in disguise, I cant be bothered with the grief!!

Please Felicity, first of all stop insulting those who are just trying to defend their rights. Who is on the wrong-doing side of things is Empire Stores. They did a huge mistake in not honouring a contract they signed with customers.

I am not sure if you work for them, or just do not get that the point is serious and well beyond even their simple Ts&Cs (which in any case are in line with a correct handling of the purchase and this did NOT happen). What you say about sending back the item is extremly simplistic and is not acceptable. Empire has sold a 3.1 MP camera and should provide one (given some are regularly on sale in their catalog).

Empire Stores has -up to this point- not only not honoured a contract (which is a problem between customers and them) but ALSO done for days FALSE advertising of a product and risk serious fines for this alone.

Who thinks trading is a joke is totally wrong. They are a business and have to respond of their actions. It would be very simple for a shop to advertise an Xbox 360 for 150 pounds (showing its photo in the description and confirming it in the invoice and take the payment) and then send an Xbox (old model) and claim an 'error in the description'.
But this is a fully illegal practise that could cost thousands of pounds in fines to the company that does it! Two class of objects clearly NOT equivalent among them CANNOT be exchanged and even less with not even waning the customer.

My confirmation email also says SW6826 GREAT PRICE! CONCORD DIGITAL CAMERA IN 3MP and I ordered at approx 3pm on the 15th. I didn't receive the email until 10pm that night. Mine also has no name on it or account numbers etc. Delivery date was stated as monday 20th (tomorrow) but it now seems that those people who paid by credit card and not through an account set up will get nothing at all (people have tried to cancel, and their order couldn't be traced). So this is another annoyance on top of everything else. Why give you the option to pay immediately by credit card when it seems the orders don't count! Anyway, it will be very interesting to see what does or doesn't turn up tomorrow...

I paid by credit card (no account setup) and I received the order.
Not particularly fast, but it arrived safely. No complaint on that side. It was the content the thing I did not appreciate! But that was still before all the buzz come out. I am not sure what they are doing about newer orders.

Any info on where we stand yet? they are still selling a Concord 3.1MP digital camera (new spring/summer sale >> mens valentines gifts >> page 3) which are equivelent to what we bought, should we return the item? or do we have a case that they are selling an item very similar to what we all paid for and should supply us with them instead of the rubbish we got? :cool:

Oh and as for the one I have, has anyone tried using the returns section in "My account"? jeez! I thought the checkout there stank! still awaiting email/phone call/letter/courier to turn up on my doorstep so I can return the thing, heard nothing 30 hours after clicking on a button which should submit some sort of returns request to them

I've got the same message, except the "27 CF8690 30 M MARINE SWEATER" is "27 ZA6384 SET2 CHIP/DIP DISH". I paid by credit card if it is any help. The email has my name (yippee) but no account number or reference number; so "...or use MY ACCOUNT..." (hmm).

Is this different to what people have received before?

I ordered mine on the 15th have got a screen shot with order confirmation and delivery date for today (20th) chose to pay by account, but not been given account number so I cant check the progress of my order. Having read these pages wonder if Ill actually recieve anything or if they'll claim not to have recieved my order?
We'll see. I'll be anyoyed if a) it doesnt arrive at all, b) its the 2mp one, it does clearly state the 3mp on my order.
However I don't think it's worth getting too hot and bothered about.
Yes complain, yes inform trading standards, (which I will do if necessary) Then get over it, lifes too short. There's more important things to worry about. We can all live without a digital camera surely.
