Another TV and "sold out" duo for me.

Anyone want a battery-powered black & white telly?

Me four :( not that I'm holding my breath. I didn't even have any promo codes so I wont be getting any free tatt either.

    Me five lol!

So it looks like I'll be getting a child's yellow hat (£1.99, just to take the order over £20 to qualify for £10 off) and some free tat.

If it comes at all, of course.

now card cant be seen in old camera, even after formatting it again .
so much for a bargain, got lesser value camera and broke my sd card......unless any of you clever people could help me fix it please?

    Hi littletj,
please mention the card type (is it SD or MMC?), dimension (512MB? 1 GB?) and its brand (Viking, others?).
  • I ordered 2 cameras with a £15 discount code on 15 April and got my confirmation.

Today I got an email advising that I would shortly be receiving my 24 Piece dinner service and welcome pack! Wot? No camera?

I tried to access the website, but it was down. Anyway I had never had any account details with which to access my account.

So I phoned and spoke to a representative who explained that the cameras were out of stock and that I would not be receiving them. The dinner service is apparently a free gift included in the discount code I had used and it cannot be cancelled!

So, I order two 3 MP digital cameras, got an order confirmation, but will only receive a crappy 24 piece dinner service!

The 'representative' explained that although the order had been accepted 'the internet is out of date' and there was no stock when I ordered! I tried to explain that the internet was actually fine, and that it was their system that was hopelessly out of date but I may as well have been speaking to my new 24 piece dinner service. I asked to speak to someone from 'the internet' but was told that I could not speak to them, only email them via the website. But the website is down (dear Liza, dear Liza...) :rotfl:

She helpfully explained that next time I order (AS IF!) I should phone up instead 'cos the internet is always out of date.

At this point I lost the will to live and gave up...........
Moral....If a deal looks too good to be true.....It probably is.

:T I've heard some excuses in my time but "The Internet is out of date" has to be up there with the best of them

Still no email/phone call/fax/letter/courier/carrier pigeon my end to sort out sending this rubbish back. Glad they don't have my credit card details now and the charge is just on my account, at least they didn't con me out on any real money....not until I pay off the balance (ha) hopefully they will get the message when I send the still wrapped Empire catalogue back to them with the package  it angers me how they have the nerve to send me 2 emails "more great offers at Empire" in the past few days.....but have ignored my requests for the items to be collected

I called Empire Stores ten minutes ago to check their 3.1mpx camera (found elsewhere on site and not on offer) is in stock so I can order online.

    It's in stock.

We've been had....and my confirmation still had the camera on and I've got nowt so far!

    Hi folks.

I'm away this week, out of the country. I am aware

    a. there is some concern that people who ordered the 3Megapixel seem to have got the 2 Megapixel
    b. the 2 Megapixel replaced the 3 Megapixel, but on the same link at exactly the same price.

The first is of greater concern. A call has already gone in to Empire from one of the MSE towers team. I'm waiting to hear what happens.

    Martin

    So Martin, what happened?

    Cheers.

    Slips,
there are updates on page 1.

    All,
I received my Empire "goody" bag today...2 x 2 MP camera and a divine bright yellow dinner set.

To echo a few others I was disappointed to find it wasnt a 3 MP. BUT at same time I looked at the 2 cameras and dinner set on table and though hey for £25 can I really complain that much. Yes they made a major mistake but I bought a very bog standard digi camera for £12.50, and in my book thats not bad money saving.

I've received 1 metre of net curtain, a coffee machine, a welcome pack, a thank you, a catalogue - but no camera! This is "sold out the credit/debit card payment will only be charged when the items are despatched". I do, though, now have a customer account number so can look up "my account" on the empire web site which tells me

    "19 Mar 2006 SW6826 DIGITAL CAMERA 1 (19.99) 20 Weeks"

    Only 20 weeks to wait!!!

Sorry to all those who feel that they've been stitched up, but I think it's so funny I've been giggling all day.
