Hi there guys...
I ordered my camera last weekend and actually received last Wednesday. As it was the 2 MP model, I rang them up and told the CS rep I had been sent the wrong model (as apparently some lucky guys have received the 3 MP model). They have arranged for a courier to come to my house so that the item can be returned (and thats free).
They also arranged for a replacement camera so I really thought I would get the 3MP camera this time. How naive I am! This morning I received again a parcel from them and it was again the the 2 MP model! I rang them up but couldnt get through, so I have sent them an email saying I would like to return the items asap. I also told them to delete all my details from their database once all items have been returned.
To be honest I don't trust them to be able either to arrange for my courier service nor delete my details from their database. But it will be their loss, because I have not paid for the items yet!
I can't believe how these people are able to make a living with this kind of attitude.0 -
Well then it is most definitely their fault! - false advertising. They could have contacted people to say so, but instead they took the money and shipped out a different product!0

Ordered last weekend, have had 3 emails confirming order and dispatch, not recieved anything yet! I really hope it doesn't come to save me the trouble of sending it back.0

I know people seem to be concentrating on the camera model, but what's the score with the free gifts ?
Have people been receiving their cr@ppy TVs of coffee makers or whatever ?:think:0 -
I just had a 10 minute waste of time talking to Empire on the phone. Although I have the emailed order confirmation (complete with "Dear ,) they have no record of me on the system.
The woman told me that there was no order placed for me so I would have to place it again, when I told her that I wanted to cancel she said I probably wouldn't get it anyway. When I pointed out that I had an order confirmation so if I still wanted the camera I would have no idea that the order hadn't been placed she just told me there was nothing she could do and I would have to email the people that the order confirmation came from - apparently they don't take phone calls.....
So now I have no idea if I am getting a camera or not! Time to check the bank statement I think!Debt free date - June 2008 :T :T :T0 -

I don't suppose the camera is bad for the 10 quid odd I paid at the end of the day.0 -

I appreciate lots of people are happy with a 2mp camera for £10ish but I'm not - I saw a 3.1mpx camera at a 'great price!', I ordered it, and to all intents and purposes am expecting what I ordered, what is described on my invoice as a '3MP CAMERA' and what I've now been debited for to arrive. If Empire choose to send me a 2mpx camera I will phone them and threaten trading standards - the 'it was a mistake' just doesn't wash - if it was a mistake, email me and let me know and don't charge my card and send me inferior goods.
The supply of goods act states:
Any goods supplied in the course of the service must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for their purpose. If they are not the consumer is entitled to a repair, replacement or compensation.
'as described' MUST be the description I saw on the site when I clicked 'add to basket' and the subsequent email invoice. If not I can demand the goods I bought and paid for at that price regardless of how much they NOW have them on sale for. It's the law, plain and simple.
Sorry if anyone thinks I'm being OTT for a £10 camera but I don't like being taken for a ride by rubbish companies who think they can lie to you and take your money - Redcats' group of catalogues is terrible for it and I should have known - their customer service totally stinks. But when you have the law on your side and am stubborn (as I am!) I will get a result!!0
