I've just managed to get a copy of the original 3MP page. I think it must have been in my cache. I've saved it using Firefox which saves all the pictures etc. If you want a copy send me a message with your email address and I'll ZIP it up and send it to you! I've ordered 2 yesterday when it was still saying 3MP. If they arrive as 2MP, then I shall be up for a fight. The more evidence the better! Original page, confirmation page, confirmation email! Legally they can't refuse as they've confirmed the order as a 3MP camera!
It may be tomorrow before I get to email anyone though

I get the 2MB camera when I use the original link in the very first post of this thread but now my own link also gets the Home Page - maybe some hotlinking prevention.
Also worth using Cntrl-F5 (in IE) to get a fresh load of the page in case it's stuck in the cache.

I have the 2MP camera on order. It's my own fault, I should have checked my basket before I paid for the stuff.

Still, 3 pairs of boxers, a portable TV thing (is it a 14 inch telly or a handheld thing from an 80s Tandy catalogue?) and a 2MP digital camera isn't bad for 13 quid.

I'm gonna take the camera to the world cup in Germany. That way if I lose it it doesn't matter!

I may try selling the free gift on ebay, although this will probably make me a bad person.

I've just checked the Empire Stores web site using the link in the original post, and it's now coming up as "No Stock". I wonder how many people are actually going to get one then. I'm supposed to be getting the 3MP one but I'm not holding my breath!

Empire Stores are part of Redcats and in this month's Which magazine it says that Redcats Ltd have been fined £9000 after being investigated by West Yorkshire Trading Standards for misleading adverts offering free items when people placed an order.

For example, an advert had a photo offering a free microwave but all people received was the plastic bowl inside the microwave :rolleyes: Another of their adverts offered a free mobile phone, but the gift turned out to be a home phone. So I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get what we ordered.

So, if we get the 2MP camera, can we ask them to swap it for the 3MP as stated in the confirmation email - or is the only option to send it back and accept all the hassle?

I really want the 3MP one at that price and don;t want to have to send it back and re-order etc. Wander what out options are?
