    I have noticed the statement from Empire on the front page. I have not yet received my camera. How do we stand legally; do I have to send the goods back or can I insist that they deliver the good as advertised? Has anyone received the 3.1MP camera? If some people have and others have not, how can they claim it is a 'mistake'?

    I am sure that they cannot expect you to send back the goods at your own cost. As they have not supplied the goods you actually ordered, therefore not fulfilling THEIR side of the contract, I think they have to collect the good themselves at cost to them. Im not 100% sure but I would say Im pretty sure you should bear no extra cost for them not informing you they would be substituting it!

    Just phoned them to cancel the order I placed wednesday morning and the CS rep said it hadn't even gone through as I hadn't given enough details to open an account?! Strange as I filled out everything it asked me, paid by CC so as to not have a credit account with them and received confirmation of my order. Will have to see if anything turns up now and check my card statement to make sure I haven't been charged :(

    Just received my camera and it is the 2mp one! I phoned them up and have been told it was an error on the website, I have arranged for it to be collected but it can take up to 10 working days for me to get a credit back onto my credit card, I am not happy.

    Like others, I phoned up to cancel my order this morning. But despite my confirmation email, I dont have an account set up at the moment, and so I have to phone up again tomorrow to cancel it once the system has updated.
    Starting Debt (Feb 06)

    Halifax Credit Card: £3500

    Tuition Fees: £500

    Total Starting Debt: £4000

    Current Debt: £2600

    I got mine this am ...ordered on 10/3/2006 at 1.00

    They sent 2MB black one ...arhhhhhhhhhhh

    Phoned - they say mistake on website....
    i ask mistake involving Description , Title , and photo. Told yes human error.

    Returning goods - 10 days to credit account. - muppets - liars. arhhhhhhhh


    anyone recieve the 3mp one ??? if so please pm me.

    Sounds like the same as me.

    I haven't rang them to cancel the order, but as the confirmation I got contains no personal reference (ie no customer / order number and not even my name !!) I'm guessing that it hasn't gone through so I'm not expecting to get anything. I too will be checking my c/card statements very carefully to make sure they haven't charged me.

    This whole thing has turned into a total farce, and from what people have said, it is not just a one-off. Surely it is just a matter of time before this company goes bust as I don't believe any company can retain customers when it offers such abysmal customer service. This is just the sort of thing that can bring a business to it's knees. :wall:
  • Those of you who have already received the 2MP camera who chose to pay by credit card, can you please tell me if your confirmation email contained your name or an account number?

    Mine didn't it just says Dear, <blank>

    I WANT the 2mp camera, the camera I have at the moment doesn't even have 1mp lol or an LCD screen.
