When I began the order at approx 3pm on wednesday (15th) it was still showing the 3mp camera. By the time the order was complete it had changed to the 2mp camera.

The first reports of receiving through the post the 2mp camera instead, was on the 15th (page 10 of this thread). I presume these orders were placed on the 10th. Therefore it took at least 5 days for them to update the site. By the way - there is no mention of anyone receiving the 3mp camera in this entire thread!

A 3MP camera was received in post 127. I placed my order on tuesday15th with a delivery date of today on the confirmation e-mail (which stated a 3MP camera). Not arrived yet. Can't decide what to do if or when it arrives???

The camera was on the web site from at least the 10/03/06 1:28AM (I would suggest it was there at least on the previous day too) and was still there at 1:30PM on 15/03/06 when I bought mine. It was probably gone just after 3:00PM on 15/03/06 (certainly by 5:30 when I checked again for someone else).

Post number #155 says they have a copy of the web page with the details of this camera on. I also have a printed copy of the page from when I bought it. Reading from it now it states "GREAT PRICE! CONCORD DIGITAL CAMERA IN 3MP". The small and enlarged pictures were of a Concord EyeQ 3040 3.1 Mega Pixels Camera. The Ref Number was SW6826. Exactly the same details were stated on the order confirmation page just before I clicked "Place Order" (also printed) and on the emailed Order Confirmation. According to post #80 their dispatch email also said the same Ref Number. Post #162 says that the Ref code for the 3.1MP camera was SW6826 and, perhaps importantly, that the ref code for the 2MP camera was different, i.e. SS6826. I can no longer find either camera on their web site now.

Post #127 says that they did receive the 3.1MP camera, but no else has reported the same. It would be useful if shianatika could confirm that this is definitely accurate. Has anyone else received the 3.1MP camera?

Even though they made a mistake (perhaps), it would have been decent of Empire Stores to have taken the loss as their mistake instead of wasting our time and disenfranchising their customers. I don't assume I will get a 3MP camera, so to the people who warned me, I'm sorry I didn't listen.

I have not received my order yet. Could anyone with legal knowledge please advise us if our only recourse is to return the camera and request a refund? If so I will not waste any more time insisting that they send the camera as advertised or give compensation. At the very least, this MSE web site gets the attention of at least 500,000 people who will surely benefit from knowing how poor the service has been!! Consumer revenge usually pays off (don't give up first timers), but this company has lost many more people's confidence.

I'm away this week, out of the country. I am aware

a. there is some concern that people who ordered the 3Megapixel seem to have got the 2 Megapixel
b. the 2 Megapixel replaced the 3 Megapixel, but on the same link at exactly the same price.

The first is of greater concern. A call has already gone in to Empire from one of the MSE towers team. I'm waiting to hear what happens.

My email confirmation specifically referred to the 3Mp but I just received the 2Mp.

Hi, I don't have my camera yet, if it's 2mp it can go back to Empire Stores. I paid £19.99 for it and no free gifts. You can call them on this number 01924-818181 instead of the 0870 number, this number works okay. The free phone number 0800 777000 has not been tried by me.
