How long did it take for anyone to arrive?
I ordered one of these cameras on the 10th, they charged my card on the 14th but no sign of it yet!

For anyone who is concerned the package includes a post paid returns label and it is made clear that anything can be sent back for a full refund within 14 days.

The $64,000 question is whether one can keep the free coffee-maker, although I actually have no use at all for it !!

I have an account with empire and usually only place an order when there's a free gift. The free gift is yours to keep even if you return the item ordered.

I agree it would be nice if we could get Martin on the case, but I think your post comes across as slightly hostile, as if to imply that he is in some way responsible for reproducing an offer in the newsletter that someone else had posted on the forum.

Clearly, Martin cannot possibly endorse every single bargain posted (whether it be in the forum or the newsletter) so the usual "all tips are followed at your own risk" disclaimer will always apply.

A lot of people are angry at the way they've been treated by Empire and I dare say any hostility will not have been intentionally aimed towards Martin, but just bear in mind that he's on OUR side, so I'd say a slightly more friendly approach is more appropriate if we're trying to appeal for Martin's help.

So I say to everyone involved - get sucking up. :kisses:
(ps We love you Martin) :p :rotfl:

    Hi Ian

I don't think anyone is directing criticism towards Martin. We all know that it's Empire Stores who have let us down.

Received the following from Empire stores this morning-

    "Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately, this is a printing error, the camera advertised is
a 2 mega pixel camera and not a 3 mega pixel camera, we apologise for
    any confusion caused.
    Kind regards
    Claire Parkinson
    Empire Customer Care Advisor"

If I was being cynical I would say they had a lot of cheap cameras to get rid of.

I'm going to hang on to mine to see what results Martin gets as my e mail confirmed I would be getting a 3.1mp and got a 2mp as we have got 14 days to return them
and the delivery note dosn't say alternative item sent.

Well its very strange but every time i have called there customer service they have refered to my order as a 3 mega pixel camera and confirmed my order. Shame i'm not allowed to record the conversations. I havent received mine yet and i am not holding my breath as far as getting what i ordered is concerned

I wonder if West Yorkshire Trading Standards would be interested in this, as I mentioned in my earlier post (181) Redcats Ltd (of which Empire Stores is a part) have recently been fined after an investigation by them. I believe Empire Stores are based in Bradford.

The website for West Yorks trading standards is http://www.ts.wyjs.org.uk/

To report a consumer complaint, telephone Consumer Direct on 08454 04 05 06 or online via http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/complaints.shtml

I haven't got time to do this myself at the moment as I'm busy today, but will complain if I don't get my 3MP camera!
