  • I'd have to say go for the GHD ones. They're truly great - I look like a stressed out Einstein on a windy day, but with this it's as straight as when I come from the hairdressers. I've had mine since Christmas 03 and they're still going great. Definitely worth the extra money

  • Yep I agree GHD all the way, u dont need the temperature to go down so it seems pointless to pay the same for the T3 ones. You will be so happy with your GHD's. Ive got the thin ones and the big fat ones. ve got quite long hair so i prefer the fat ones for the main bulk and use the thin ones for my fringe and to curl. u can curl with the fat ones but its bigger waves and u need long hair.
I was lucky, my ex bought me the fat ones and i was at a carboot sale and found the thin ones brand new, the woman couldnt work out how to use them (she was a bit old fashioned) so she was selling them for £15!! including the GHD protect spray!! BARGAIN!!

I would recommend using a protecting spray or serum. Ive tried loads of different ones and the best ive found is Redken and one in a pink bottle by Paul somebody ?? i cant think of his name but he has a range in boots, its bright fushia pink bottle with a picture of a bull or a dog on it???
Anyway id try those rather than the GHD spray, i found that quite sticky.
    Hope that helps xx

  • hiya,
    wow....£100 on straighteners!!??
I paid £25 for my remington ceramic straighteners from boots and they are just as good as the ghd (got a friend who has them so tried em several times). I have very long hair too......and as long as you condition and use a heat protecting serum on your hair you shouldnt have any probs with hair breakage. I straighten mine most days, and dont have problems....i think as long as they are ceramic plates you cant go wrong. ( those really cheap tat metal ones arent too clever and tend to wreck your hair!!)

    sue :D

  • I have quite longish hair, but it is very very thick. I own the GHD pair and could not live without them. If I ever travel, these life savers go in my hand luggage, that is how much I could not bear to be without them!

They really are life savers - straigtening my hair takes 10 mins tops in the mornings now, compared to the 40 minutes it used to take, with a pair of Babyliss ones.

They can be bought cheaper online - just enter a search in google, mine were £90 from the hairdressers, but they really are worth every penny, in my opinion.
Nice Shoes & Expensive Designer Handbags, are my downfall!

Thanks for all your replies, I think I go for the GHD ones as most of you have recommended them. I'm off to find the cheapest. I just missed the GHD trade-in offer at my local shop, but will try the website too.

    Many thanks
    Jays.
