Looking to buy missus some authentic GHD straightners as it's costing her £11 a go to have it done at hairdressers! I've seen some on Ebay for £75.....

Just bought some last week for £70 including postage (recorded next day delivery) from www.hqhair.com

They are £75 on the site but there is a code on the Vouchers Board HERE for 10% off.

I also 'went through' www.pigsback.com as they are offering 10 piggypoints for every £1 you spend at hqhair. (Piggypoints can then be exchanged for free gifts and money off vouchers - just a new sort of cashback site.)

    Hope that helps. :)

Just found this on the GHD website get yer skates on and you can get a £20 voucher.

The ultimate in versatility, a ghd ceramic styling iron is all you need to create the looks that count: straight and sleek, movement and curls. If you bought, or were given, any other curling tongs or straighteners, there are two ways to put it right and become an urban angel.

    Option 1.

Bring your unwanted curling tongs or straighteners to any participating ghd approved salon and get £20 back when you buy the ghd ceramic styling iron.

    Option 2.

    Alternatively, participate in the offer online by following the simple steps below;

    2. We will send you a pre-paid delivery bag for you to post your unwanted curling tongs or straighteners to us.
    3. As soon as we receive your unwanted electrical styling appliance, we will email you with a £20 gift voucher code, redeemable on this website only.
    4. Finally purchase your ghd original ceramic styling iron, quoting the reference number shown on your voucher.

Me three! HQHair is the cheapest with a 10% code, the £20 off deal isn't worth it as it'll cost you £20. You can use GreasyPalm too, got a bit extra via cashback

    Can anyone advise me?

I had my hair straightened by a hairdressers the last time I had it cut, she recommended GHD hair straighteners (£100) and said most people bought cheaper ones and then bought GHD ones as they are the best.

However, today someone in a Toni and Guy saloon, was trying to sell me their own brand called T3 (same price). Apparantly, the ceramics are different, it comes with a 2 year warrenty (not a 1 year guarantee like GDH) and has a temperature control so you can set it to cooler - but, do you need very hot anyway to get the hair straightened?

Does anyone have any experience with these, I an obviously a complete novice! :o

    TIA Jays

GHD hair straighteners are just fantastic. Ive had mine for 2 years and they still work good as new. i have frizzy, wavy hair and can make my hair salon smooth with a bit of time and patience. Buy them- I know they seem pricey but well worth it. :T
  • GHD all the way tried cheaper but not any way near as good. Bought mine from jason shankey on line sorry dont have the web site but it was so cheap and they offer next day delivery for under 85 Pounds in total. What a bargain they always have a bonus gift on offer when you order. Go girl get the best

    Hi !!

Speaking as a hair product/appliance junky I hope I can help u out here !

T3 isn`t Toni & Guys own brand, you can buy it in T3 stockists salons (my friend owns a salon & stocks them, thats how I know !)

GHD & T3 are pretty much the same, but like you said.. T3 has a temperature adjuster on it, which seems a pointless function !

T3s plates are made of a special mineral or precious stone ..... whereas GHD`s are just ceramic but have a protective coating on them.

    T3 offer a 2 year warranty, GHD a 1 year warranty.

Both irons (in my experience) are pretty much the same, with the same price tag although on the GHD website they are currently offering a £20 trade in, so if you trade in an old hair appliance they will give you £20 off a brand new pair of GHDs ! Meaning you can get them for £69 0 £79 depending on where you get them !

I personally own GHD`s, as I think they are the best - you never hear all the celebrity mags or hairdressers saying how wonderful T3`s are do you !!?? Thats because they all have GHD`s !!

It`s totally your choice, but if it were me, i`d go with the GHD`s !

P.s Habe used cheaper ones in the past - hair tools ones, and they frazzled my hair. Ended up with dry hair that snapped off !! :o(
