Churchmouse thanks for news of Catowen. I thought she'd disappeared forever. I really liked her posts, I wish she'd come back. What a generous gesture to give her loyalty card to you.

My parents popped in unexpectedly this afternoon which was nice. My dad had brought his and my gran's ration books with him. They are absolutely pristine and issued in October 1939 -almost 70 years ago! Dad says I can look after them as I'm so obssessed with the home front.

According to NHS Direct, Metanium is not toxic if ingested.

Guess what little bear has been up to - nappy rash cream EVERYWHERE. Again.

Nic - it is such a small world! I am thinking of you and praying for you and your family.

So, any hints and tips about getting yellow coloured nappy rash cream out of the upholstered chair in LB's room? Seriously I am going to start with stardrops and work up from there.

    Hugs to all.

I've not been on the threads for quite a few days, so had to read back to find out what had happened. Sending (((hugs))) to nic1lou2. I know exactly where you're coming from. Dad died, unexpectedly at Christmas. We had to get the local police to go in, as he lived 200 miles away. They found him in his chair. It IS very hard, but you will get through it. Just take it one day at a time. There's nothing that can't wait a day or two, and remember to eat. Seriously, there were days when I realised at the end of the day, I hadn't eaten.

Happy Birthdays to those I've missed :bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake::bdaycake::beer: Take a beer or cake as appropriate ;)

There's a small pile of ironing ( please note, small pile, I've been good :p) with my name on it. I'll start that in a minute if I can find something worth watching on TV. Failing that I'll dig out a DVD :D

You may already know that will be an interim one, the actual death certificate won't be issued until after any inquest. Don't let any jobsworth tell you they can't accept it as it is a legal document - your Coroner's office staff may be able to help if anyone refuses (bank / insurers / pension co etc).

    Evening all,
Well, so much for a relaxing day gardening, not only have I got 2 splinters in my fingers I also have so many scratches up my arms thanks to rose bushes and Japonica.
I must be allergic to something because my arms are blotchy and swollen, My hands are fine because I was wearing Marigolds, hence the splinters.
I pruned a tree and managed with the aid of secatuers to make a "V" cut in my little finger so deep that DH took me to local hosp to have 2 stitches. Had to wait for 1hr 45mns.
    It really hurts. :o

Oh yeah,,,,,, and it really did help when DH said,
"You can't be trusted with anything sharp"
He was soooooo lucky I had put the secatures down when he made that comment, otherwise he would be talking in a voice that only dogs would hear.

Just wish I had stuck to re-building the stone barn (conservatory to be) much safer to be up a ladder hacking out stone pointing and re-pointing than weeding the bloo9y garden.

Dinner over and have soaked in a hot bath, with hand held high.

FLOSS, Yes the Beatles are the only ones that come to mind, not the Beetles :o:D
SUNNY GIRL, Phew, what a lot you have achieved today. :T
AUSSIE, Better luck next time, you'll have to go back and recoup your money. ;)

CHURCHMOUSE, Good to hear from you again. How is CAT ? Does she still post on MSE ?

Beth, catowen is very busy with her childminding and her own children. I know she has at least one young baby she cares for. I think the time she can spend on MSE is spent entering competitions from the comp board. She has had some very good successes :D I have seen the odd post there when she's posted a new comp.
Last time we "spoke" she was fine.

Oh and sympathy on your secateurs incident. I've done similar, ( but not as bad, thankfully). Felt loads of resistance to the blades, and just in time realised it was one of my fingers :rotfl:My DH makes similar comments. Glad yours isn't too high pitched......yet;)

Evening all.......after my second mug of coffee OH and I went upstairs to tackle the window frame in our bedroom, boy, I thought the others were bad but this one was a nightmare and we have only done half of it. Mr Bodger had actually
painted the frame down one side and the dirt in the seals and round the edges of the windows was indescribable.........we worked on the two side windows, which open leaving the centre panel. By 11am the sun was blazing in the window so we decided to call it a day will do the centre panel next week.

The post had been, no letter from Sky but 6 from British Gas, they had really managed to get things round their necks.....4 letters were addressed to OH and 2 to me, we also had the water bill. So I hightailed it down to DD1's to use her phone (I have spent £30 in 2 weeks on phone calls on my PAYG mobile) checked that she was ok, goes to 'ospital tomorrow and will find out if she can go to Mexico next Monday for 2 weeks. Eventualy sorted, BG, Sky and the water.

Spent most of the afternoon sitting in the garden, I washed the kitchen floor, so took that as an excuse to sit whilst it dried. Towels washed, dried and out away and yesterdays sheets ironed and now airing........another busy day at the fun palace!!!

Tomorrow we are at the allotment in the morning and I dare say I will be putting OH's greenhouse together or at least starting to do it.........when we get back, maybe one day I will get into my sewing room and manage to get the pioneer quilt finished............
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.
