Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Monday 20th April. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem.
Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!
Morning folks. Back to work day for most, I did go back yesterday, but appart from paperwork did not do a great deal.
Lots to do today though.
The boot sale went great. Made almost £250. Pretty good for a bunch of junk and some rusty lawn mowers. Sold some unwanted fishing gear, so I will treat myself to a new reel and put the rest in the holiday fund.
By way of a treat we had KFC last night (not that KFC is a treat) sat on a picnic bench watching the sun set on Fistral beach, Newquay. Not too shabby eh?
Got to e-bay the other otems we did not sell, which would be better on e-bay anyway.
So back to the real world. Packed lunches again and try and get everyone up for school.
Have a nice day

I have been like the Wreck of the Hesperus for day's now. I managed to do my Internet Groceries yesterday, and you would think I was being made to do something awful.
Let's hope we can find the energy to do something useful today.........Today, my BEST is good enough.0 -

Morning :hello:
Happy Birthday LameWolf :bdaycake:
I didn't get much done in the house over the weekend. I've been shifting rubble from the patio, I can now get to the washing line without falling over broken bricks :rolleyes:Tomatoes, cucs and broad beans have been planted, fruit bushes de-tangled and now growing happily up canes and string and the herbs have gone nuts and outgrown their pots. There's a lot more growing than last year, should save us a fortune as well as keep me fit
Today's jobs -- Damp-dust - the whole house
- Get rid of cobwebs - why do loads appear at once?
- Hand-wash a few cool-wash-only clothes
Bulletproof0 - Damp-dust - the whole house

Good morning. Thank you so much to Shez for being the only one to wish my DD Birthday wishes on Friday :A Coupled with other things, this has made me realise that I'm not really a part of the "Daily Thread Family" so probably will revert to just posting on threads that interest me.

Good Morning
:beer:Have a great day Lamewolf:beer:
Monday again.....DS is back at school & I have the horrible task of taking DD for her hair to be trimmed, means moaning all the way there, during and back. Will treat myself to a lovely Starbucks with cream and try and ignore her. Have also returns to go back to Next & New Look and we need to get new school shoes.
Once back from town will be in the office. House is quite clean and tidy, only a couple of bits in the ironing pile and have 1 wash to do but should be able to line dry all week :j
Will be having roast chicken today as ended up having chicken stir fry yesterday, oh and have tesco delivering late this afternoon.
Cannot wait till tomorrow when will have the house to myself for a few hours.
Have a great day all.

Pen-Pen - I obviously didnt see your post or speed read & missed it, I think quite a few of us from time to time say things that other people dont comment on - I personally do not let it worry me - I'd rather think that people are busy planning their OS day. I think its a shame if people stop posting but if thats their wish then so be it.0 -
Morning all
Work this morning. Must wash the kitchen floor when I get home. You would think that when someone gets to 22 they could pour a drink without leaving spots of blackcurrant everywhere  Bathroom mats in the DW so will hang those out when I get home too. They say its going to be really warm today so they should dry in no time. Made a fish pie for the first time the other week, much too dry so am going to attempt to get it right this time so that will be sorted for dinner.
Hope everyone has a great day xxxx0 -
Good morning everyone,
Niclou, I was sorry to read about your MIL. It must have been a dreadful shock for you. I'm thinking of you and your family.
Christabel, I ho;pe you feel better soon.
Belated birthday wishes to Hilstep and Sunnyday, I hope you both had lovely days.
Happy birthday to Lamewolf. :bdaycake:
I wasn't around much at the weekend as the weather here has been glorious and today looks as though it's going to be more of the same.:D
I spent all day yesterday working in the garden and although the sun was shining I didn't think it was that strong or that I was in it for that long but unfortunately I've fried myself!I dispatched Mr Pink yesterday afternoon to pick up some bits and pieces so we could have a barbeque and he came home with what I wanted plus two pork roasting joints and three packs of steak and kidney reduced by 90%. :j so it's steak and kidney pie for tea tonight.
It's the first day back to school/work for most of mine today so I was a good mummy and got up early to polish all their shoes (I forgot to do it yesterday) and make them a cooked breakfast...I just hope they don't expect it again tomorrow. So only ds2 and I at home today. We're going to do a bit of gardening and bake some things for the lunchboxes then later if he's really good I'll take him swimming.
Have a good day everyone.
