Good morning. Thank you so much to Shez for being the only one to wish my DD Birthday wishes on Friday :A Coupled with other things, this has made me realise that I'm not really a part of the "Daily Thread Family" so probably will revert to just posting on threads that interest me.

    Penny. x

    Penny,

You are part of the 'daily thread family'....please keep on posting. If it's any consolation I remembered it was your daughters birthday this weekend but I thought it was Saturday and I didn't post that day. I hope she had a lovely day and that you all had a great weekend.

Sorry for the second post but I'm on the laptop and it won't allow me to edit my previous post.:o

    Morning all

Haven't been around for a few days, I have to wrestle the kids off the pc if I want to use it! And Thursday we went off to Liverpool for a couple of days. DH Nan died and it was her funeral Friday. So rather than dash up there early Friday we drove leisurely up there thursday and stayed in an Innkeepers Lodge at Warrington. Lovely it was. Funeral went ok, and we are all going back up there in a month or so to bury her ashes next to her late husband at West Derby in Liverpool.

Weekend was lovely weather and I got up to date with ALL my washing...I can see the bottom of the laundry basket. I was very good and even folded and put it all away so there's very little to iron now! :j I also got loads of gardening done and now our front garden is almost ready for veggies!

Kids not back at school till tomorrow, but I am at work 2day :(.

Tea will be sausages & salad tonight if weather is still warm or chips if not. Washing out on line (DS1 was ill during night...why can't they make it to the toilet??).

Must look for new matress for the boys bunk beds....they are complaining that they can feel the springs

Hugs for all those that need and want them...I've not caught up with the past few days yet so can't name each and every one of you.

  • Morning Guys!

PP-I for one love reading your posts and learning about what you and family are doing and eating as your menus are always so scrummy! I think you are a valid member of OS and you keep us all in line when needed.

OH & I had a rough night (don't be rude!) I feel very weak this morning, but the nurse should be here after 8am.

DW & WM have both been on. DD did her small list of jobs this morning before she left for school at 7.30, so the house is tidy.

DD is having a few packed lunches this week and today she has taken a toasted pitta halved with ham & lettuce, boiled egg, 2 boxes of raisins and an apple. She also takes a bottle of water. We have agreed 2 this week and see how she gets on.

Im just resting up today, but have lit a candle for my friend.

    Hope everyone is well.

    Good morning all :hello:

They're all back at school today:j peace and quiet ahead. My French class starts again today too- my brain could do with some exercise. I haven't had much physical exercise while the kids have been home so it's back to my morning walks after I've dropped Dd off at school. I'm going to go through a little bit of woodland that is near us- DS1 reports that the bluebells are out (he notices things like that:)).

I think it'll be pasta for tea tonight -there's half a carton of passata in the fridge and lots of cheese.

I posted a link the other day to a nice householdy blog I found- Bread and Roses. I've just been reading it and found this very sensible post about thrifty cooking.

Penelope Penguin please don't stop posting on the daily. I love reading your posts and I did see the one about your dd's upcoming birthday, but I can't remember when it was :o Hope she had a great day;)

By the way Penny your inbox is full -I'm trying to pm you!

    Good Morning to all!

Yes we are all back and ready for school, lunch boxes etc, not quite sure what to do with myself today yet, think I may go to the gym (as I haven't been for 2wks!).

Done all the housework yesterday, but I do need to start clearing out the old toys from loft and garden and freecycle them - a job you can't do when the kids are around!;) Probably wash the car too.

Doing pretty well with using up food from my freezer inventory!

Might pop to garden centre to get some grow bags for the kids to plant some veg on the patio. We do have an allotment (shared with two neighbours) but I thought they could see these growing everyday when they come home from school.

PenPenguin - was Wicked good? i've heard it is.

Have a great day all xx

Morning all - off to work in a mo :( but only for three days - yay! Am off to the New Forest for four days - going to have a walk there and then head to the isle of wight for another one. Mr Caring Sharing has agred to have dd the following weekend too so i can be mostly walking in N9aev's neck of the woods - i think but I'm rather rubbish at geography.

Last nights tea was a freezer use up of .... erm quiche and pakoras - a sort of fusion of french and indian cuisine :o tonight's will be a choice of chicken or salmon - i only have a bit of each - new pots and salad (can you tell it's the end of the month).

Veg babies went into their big beds at the weekend until i ran out of space - need to get some more containers this week. dd(23) found the missing seed potatoes behind the shoe chest in the hall - shame - they have chitted very nicely ta and will be planted just as soon as i remember what i did with the rubble sacks  the raised bed that the doggie next door dug up is looking interesting - one side is ok and everything is coming up nicely lined up but the other is all higgledy piggledy - i think i will leave it though and may have just invented a new form of random companion planting

    happy birthday lamewolf

have a good day all :)
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

    Morning everyone,

Just a quickie from me as I'm going to be busy this morning helping Mum & Dad get doctors appointments etc sorted. Then I'm planning on returning the house to something like reasonable after 2 weeks of the children off school.

    (((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))) where needed.

    Morning all,
Plan to spend another day in the garden, there's so much to do. Perfect weather for treating all wood furniture, the table is huge and can sit 10 so that's going to take ages. The hardwood doors and windows need a coat as well. Lots of Asiatic lillies to seperate, they were covered with small red beatles chomping away  so spent over an hour picking them off with my eyebrow tweezers, don't like using pesticides.

The bed's stripped, re-made and washing on the line. BM finished and 2nd lot in the WM. Kitchen floor & surfaces Stardropped.

PENPEN, I didn't get on here on Thursday when you posted about your DD's Birthday, so sorry I missed it, it wasn't because I didn't bother, I honestly didn't see it. :o

NIC, Thinking of you and family.

MARIE, Could another member of the family have a word with Ulrick ? Sounds like he is as stuborn as my DH.

PENPIN, Try and have a nap later, hope you will soon feel better. (((HUGS)))

    LAMEWOLF, Happy Birthday _party_

    Morning everyone!!

I hope that you're all well on this Monday morning? I've not posted since middle of last week, as I was away at a friend's mother's funeral, so been trying to catch up with the thread and all that's going on.

While I was on the mainland, the weather here has been glorious and sunny. My DH had the washing up to date when I got home yesterday evening :) Saying that though, I've got a load of my stuff out on the line today in the hope that it will brighten up later.

Our tea last night was a pizza from M&S followed by their Millionaire's shortbread pudding - yum!! It's rare to get anything from M&S, so it was a real treat!

Lamewolf - :bdaycake: Many happy returns of the day

Christabell and Penny-Pincher - hope you're feeling better?

Pen Penguin - please don't stop posting on the OS Daily, we all have something to contribute.

Anyone else that's under the weather, feeling down or maybe celebrating a birthday and I've missed you - sorry :(

Right, best scoot off to work and I'm going to be AWOL for some of this week as well, have to do visits that mean I'm away from home for the next couple of nights, and I won't have internet access. I might be back Thursday evening or Friday morning - so have a good week everyone!!

    Morning everyone, :hello:
I'm new here, I'm often on the Free Daily Cashback forum and Aspella there recommended having a look over here. Seems like there are loads of ideas for more money saving here.

Yesterday I tried making my own handwash from a small bar of peppermint soap - which is on trial this week. So far so good! I'm sure I'll pick up lots of ideas along the way here. I've also asked for a slow cooker for my birthday so lots of money saving meals to come soon too, which is a bit old style I suppose.

Have a great day, hope it's sunny where you all are.
