Hi Happy,
It sounds like you have everything under control and know what you are going to do.
All is going well on my negative wealth journey. 9 days until my loan has gone which will mean a £215 increase in our disposable income - I can't bl00dy wait!!
Well done for paying off one of your cards. What a nice feeling to close the account :T
I hope you are well and enjoying the weekend.

Good afternoon, so I have been faffing with my spreadsheet and looking at the difference ohs pay rise will make and this is what I have come up with it by 31/12/13 my outstanding will reduce to $35207.01. Then if things go to plan 2014 will end with only the secured negative wealth outstanding which would be about 20k I haven't worked out the exact numbers but either way I am very pleased. Overpaying the secured loan will be the next priority and it will mean when we come to sell we will have a deposit so fingers crossed everything goes to plan xxI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. The numbers are looking good Happy
I am glad you had a great weekend. Ours was leisurely which was really nice for a change. Started our 'not using a supermarket' month so we got to meet a lovely new butcher in the next town and have made plans of where to go for various bits and bobs!
Yes I will use the £215 to snowball another debt. We are being a bit slap dash and just paying off what we can as and when. I am thinking a more regimented plan of a set minimum amount to overpay at the beginning of the month and then try and pay as much as poss by the end. Then we can base a df date based on our minimum and can then improve on it

Hello all,
I have not been on mse for quite some time but I have been paying down the negative wealth. Last year ended on a high we found out I was pregnant and my fertility treatment had indeed worked. This has given me more of an incentive to really knuckle down and pay the negative wealth off. This year has started by paying off a credit card and closing it and also paying off some of the overdraft the rest will be cleared on the next pay day.
My plan is to focus on paying off what I can till april and then all excess money will go on baby savings for equipment and maternity leave. I intend to take 12 months off ive wanted children for a long time I intend to enjoy the moment
I might add that not all excess money will go on baby savings whatever we clear in this period of time will be snowballed on to the next negative wealth (ie the minimum payments that I would have been paying anyway if I had not cleared them) I just wont be using all my excess money for the snowballing, once baby/babies are here we will continue to snowball down what we can while attempting to save up for our next fertility go which will be around 5k  and of course a house move! No pressure then :rotfl:
Bye for now

Count down to pay day so I can officially pay the overdraft off and close it woo hoo! I am prepared for the 30 min speel to double check I will cope with closing it bla bla bla. I have already increased a payment to the credit card after paying a negative wealth off earlier in month, this is to prevent me from getting used to the extra money when it could be used to pay down the pesky negative wealth yippee. Hope all is well with everyone xI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES.
