greed

No one has ever come up to me in a store near the discounted shelves and said: 'look I just managed to get four joints of meat for 60p each, do y ou want one?'
At the end of the day the person isn't being greedy, she's being quicker than those who didn't manage to get all the discounted joints. The stuff is there for sale and it's first come first serve. I am assuming she paid for them all and not stole them.
What if, for example, she bought all the cuts of meat at full price, would you accuse her being greedy then?
What annoys me is when I see staff discounting goods at a cheaper price for their friends and family. Surely that's wrong, it should be the same price for all.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

Here's one Sunny Saver to bring back your faith ...
While in Boots a couple of months ago ... I was looking at the little reduced shelf ... at the childrens toothbrushes actually ...
A woman beside me came and reached across and took a couple of tubes of Nivea DNA cream ... She turned and told me that she had been in the other day and had got a couple and was coming back for another two for her mum ... They were £1.64 down from £15 ... She didn't need to tell me ... and she left about 5 ... I would never have even picked them up ... I got three and have been chuffed with the stuff
If she is looking in ... Many many thanks generous lady ... It was Boots Meadowhall ...

Also we're all members of this site, it's called moneysavingexpert.com, so the people taking all the food are doing just what we are 'saving money' regardless of whether they are buying for their own personal use, or buying to give to family and friends.
When I see people taking food I wanted, I think to myself that I was a bit slow or should have got here earlier. I don't think the other person is being greedy.“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

Lets face it, if we are brave enough to admit it we will all buy as much of any one bargain that we can at the time. OK, maybe we can't freeze 15 loaves of bread or joints but if someone's got that much room left in a freezer maybe they deserve to get the bargains, I can NEVER get my freezer down that far (I keep finding bargains to put in there!!).What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

theres a hundred and one reasons why they may need that many a week....they could be foster parents, or run a voluntary group/soup kitchen0 -
To the people who have said along the lines of, if someone bought up the entire stock of an item which is full price, would that also be greed?
Not really. In the current climate, money is very tight. I have about £4 a week for food. I rely on the reduced items to make my money go further. I still would never clear out every single item unless it was, say 2 minutes before closing and there wasn't anyone else around.
I believe in karma. I know how hard it is at the moment and wouldn't want to deprive others. Yes, if there is only one of something I want, I grab it and don't give it a second thought. And if there's, say 50 or more of an item, as there sometimes are, I may buy 2 or 3, putting spares in the freezer, but I'd never clear it out just for the sake of it.0 -

Also they don't need to answer to us as to why they bought so much food!“It was only a sunny smile, and little it cost in the giving, but like morning light it scattered the night and made the day worth living.”

yeah you buy a few not the whole lot though:D I would'nt feel right taking the lot either, but thats the way i was brought up.Always shared anything i had when i was growing up,cos my frends were in the same boat as me (always bloody skint ):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Maybe she was buying to share. Whenever I see a good bargain reduced in the supermarket I buy a few but then share them with my parents, sister and 3 sets of grandparents (Mine and OH's) all of whom do the same for me. We're all having to make cutbacks and I will help my family where I can even if that means somebody who doesn't even know me or my circumstances disapproves!0 -
My son has the same problem while doing the reductions at work, he has even had customers hand him things and ask if he could reduce them more:rolleyes:0
