I dont like the people that block the reduced section with their trolley, i tend to lean over it or move it
x
Hope you dont move my trolley if its partially blocking section. Its my zimmer frame and without it there is a heap on the floor. :rotfl::rotfl: However I hope I always position it carefully sop as not to block others.0 -
I've had that before, once when I was shopping in Sainsbury's a woman parked her trolley in front of the reduced bakery bit so no-one could get to it and then took everything off it!
I thought it was a bit unfair, cause I'd also seen her take almost everything out of the chiller reduced section as well..I can understand money being tight and all...but to take everything!Wins for 2022: Hydratem8 Water bottle, diary, flowers, Good food show tickets, childrens books x3,
Thanks to all who post the comps & please let the comping fairy sprinkle dust on my entries!0 -
wait..some of you are sounding like the peeps we are talking about in the first post. Im just waiting for someone to throw the first lettuce..:rotfl:
I love a bargain unfortunatly my local sainsbury's only reduce items by about 20p...so good for those that can get the bargains you do.
However i would never hog all the goods and if someone has the cheek to stand there trolley in the way...then i will move it to the side....i don't mind if they want to question it......
they just better make sure i haven't got a french stick in my hand :rotfl:0 -
I agree with the OP, there are people out there who do get greedy, there are other people out there who wouldnt say no to some food reduced, its not everybody who is greedy thought its just a few, unfortunately theres not much the supermarkets can do.0

A friend of mine goes shopping late at night purposely to get reduced items, and when he does he will buy all of something he wants if they're reduced (eg if there's 20 bags of carrots, he'll take the lot)... he has a lot of mouths to feed... 20ish chickens, horses, pigs etc.TOP MONEYSAVING TIP
Make your own Pot Noodles using a flower pot, sawdust and some old shoe laces. Pour in boiling water, stir then allow to stand for two minutes before taking one mouthful, and throwing away. Just like the real thing!0 -
If they're reduced, the supermarket wants them gone. They couldn't care less about how many of each people take so long as by the end of the night they're not there any more. If you didn't get there first, your loss, basically.
That said, some people are a**eholes. Back at Waitrose we had a group of regulars who harrassed people (typically young and inexperienced people) to reduce stuff further for them. Couple of fun ones include someone picking through my own personal shopping and asking me if I was going to reduce any of it (!) and the woman who wanted me to reduce some (already cheap) cakes down for her (I took the price down by a penny and insisted that that was reduced enough for her).
Then there was the bloke who worked out how to use our reducing guns. That was fun. £10 cake reduced to a penny. How the cashier didn't spot that I don't know.

Hmmm, was considering a trip to MrT (they tend to do reductions on a Sunday, other days too of course, but Sunday seems most fruitful).......all this thought of trolley blocking and groups of 'ethnics' taking all the loot has put me off lol.
:eek: Is that not fraud or stealing or something ? We were not supposed to leave the guns where people could get them but I often see them lying on something when the member of staff has been called to the tills or elsewhere !ShelfStacker wrote: »Then there was the bloke who worked out how to use our reducing guns. Perhaps they freeze them and use them for packed lunches? Maybe they have bacon rolls in the morning and then filled rolls for lunch?
We have no idea what goes on behind closed doors apart from in our own homes and who are we to judge?
they are about 60 years old!!! highly unlikely they use 60 rolls between themselfs in a week!DON'T JUDGE ME, YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO. They are not a typical family - the mother (my bf) was adopted so has given the same chance of a good life to three young sisters, so her kids are 19, 17, 5, 3 and 1. To be honest, 60 rolls in a week would be a conservative estimate - they don't eat much sliced bread so the adults have rolls for lunch and the teenage lads have rolls for snacks, and the girls love a roll for lunch - then they have a cooked dinner with bread available (yes, more rolls!).
i understand that completely but this couple are about 60 years old! so how are they gonna use 60 rolls in a week???DON'T JUDGE ME, YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO.
