to all moneysavers ,on sat in sainsburys the reductions were being done and because they were closed on sun all the fresh meat was reduced. one woman filled her trolley with joints of the very cheap meat (50p for beef joint) eventhough there were loads of people also trying to get a bargain. at the moment we could all do with some reductions. she then went to the checkout without buying a single full price item. i hope moneysavers havent come to this and are sharing with the deals and perhaps we can stop such GREED

But you don't know her personal circumstances. Perhaps she has a much larger household than you, or was even buying for friends and family. Filling your freezer and getting lots of good deals isn't necessarily greed - it is being a moneysavingexpert surely!!!Debts 2004: £6000..............................................Aug 2007: £0!!!!0

in the world these days it isn't about sharing and being nice its all for one i think.
if i see something reduced and someone else is looking at it then i'm going to take it its not my problem they are taking to long to think selfish i know but i dont really want to spend 5 pounds on a piece of meat if i can get it for 70p.0 -
I am sorry, but I agree with Bella and Pretty.
What shall I do when I spot a bargain?? Politely ask everyone around whether they don't want it before I can take put it in my own trolley?
If it was pure greed, you can sleep well knowing that she doesn't have a such a big freezer to put it all into...And she spent money for meat she cannot eat now. Even if it was little, it was still wasted.
On the other side if she was from charity feeding homeless people then I say "well done being there first!"0 -
Personally I would generally always leave some for others if there are lots of reduced things (if there is only one well first to it gets it imho). However I realise there are a lot of selfish people out there who only think of themselves.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

It's dog eat dog out there. If something's going to save me money I couldn't give a stuff about anybody else. Harsh but true.:j30/7/10:j

They are usually pretty vile people. The sort who go round harrasing the staff as they are making the reductions.0 -
i can't believe how selfish some people are. if there's stuff reduced, i never take all of it (unless there's only one of something and i'm there first).
i always only take only what i need... sure, i could take the lot and bung it in the freezer for another time. but what if there's someone worse off than me who needs it more than i do?
if i ever get the urge to clear the shelf when there's mega-bargains to be had, i just remind myself that the next person who comes along might have only a couple of pounds to live on for the week and actually RELIES on reduced food to be able to eat AT ALL.durham_girl wrote: »It's dog eat dog out there. thank goodness we're not all like you!0 -

But how do you know the circumstances of this person?, they could have just lost their jobs, have hungry mouths to feed themselves and be in a desperate situation, you just don't know, so making assumptions that they are being greedy is a tad unfair imo.
At the end of the day, we're all trying to get by with what we have and make our money go further.
I had a similar experience in Tesco a couple of weeks ago, they were closing the deli counter and announced all the cooked chickens were half price, I wandered over and they were reduced from £3.95 or whatever they were to £1.41, so I picked up two to rip apart and freeze, but you should have seen the amount of people desperate to clamour a bargain, but I don't judge, just laugh it offAug GC £63.23/£200, Total Savings £00 -
Nice to see incivility is so widespread. Want to bet that those condoning this greed will be off to Discussion Time to roundly condemn some other form of antisocial behaviour that happens to annoy them?
People being greedy at the reduced bin is grotesque.0
